    My new VS Stratoliner-style hat just arrived: It's an un-lined, lightweight hat with a 2 1/2" brim; the color is "natural". The fit and all the details are perfect as always. This hat arrived just in time as my birthday is Sunday--thanks, Art, for the beautiful hat!

    Great hat! Is it a wool or fur felt? It looks like the binding is a felt binding rather than a ribbon--very interesting hat. I'm assuming this is a traditional type of hat that was made for a specific environment--a woodsman's hat, maybe?

    We took a day-trip to beautiful Bruges (Brugge) in Belgium to-day. It's called the Venice of the north because of it's canals. My VS thin-ribbon got quite a few stares, though I did spot the occasional panama or straw hat.

    This is new; just around the block from the American consulate in Paris is a Bates hat shop. I didn't have time to go in, but I snapped a couple of pics from the exterior. It looks nice!
