I would keep the hair color for now and when hubby gets back and "sees it up close" and then if he still isn't thrilled with it, you can always color it back or at least a few shades darker. Just my 2 cents...
Sometimes photos don't show how we really look here on the internet. And the camera...
Nashoba,
That is super cute! Your hubby is going to go wild!
You know what they say about blondes...they have more fun!
And I'm speaking as a former mousy brown haired...
I can't wait to see your hair styled vintage.
Great haircolor! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
Daisy's suggestion on how to roll up the hot sticks is the way I usually roll my hair with the hot sticks. I like how it gives a wave halfway up the hair and my ends aren't directly touching the hot stick and saves on "fried" hair. You have to play around with the amount of hair that you roll up...
Kind of finger waves with Hot Sticks...
Nicoletta,
Back in the "old days" women went to beauty parlors to have their hair waved. With a good set, a woman could get it to last almost a week. These days, you need to have a knowledgeable beautician or be one yourself to manage a true finger wave...
Amtrak and GrandLuxe Rail Journeys partnership
Our local paper just ran this story today here. Since I only live about 15 miles from Galesburg which has an Amtrak station, anything re: Amtrak is always in the news. Amtrak and GrandLuxe Rail Journeys, hmmm, now that's a combination. But the...
Just my two cents....
Pink,
It looks like your top thread tension is too loose and your bobbin tension is a little tight. I'm no expert by any means, but I had a similar experience with my late 80s Kenmore when I ran over a pin. It took some tinkering around with the tension to get it to work...

Thanks, Carebear, for posting the link/article. I didn't realize that there was a segment of the population who are longing for what we enjoy here on the FL.
Very interesting comments.
No Besame on eBay
Have you noticed they're not selling on eBay anymore? I've saved them as a favorite seller and have been checking for several weeks and nothing. I sure hope they'll try to sell again soon because you can get some great bargains.
Daisy,
Regarding the setting lotion at Sally's, did you ask the sales clerk about it? The gals at my local Sally's are pretty informative and seem to know their products. Also, the Sally stores don't always carry their entire line of products and what they do carry varies from time to time. The...
SaraBell,
LOVE your hair! How hard is it to get your hair to behave like that? Got any good pointers? Very 30-ish looking and a very striking hairstyle for you. I'll bet you're turning heads with that hairdo!
Kitty,
Thanks for sharing your tip about using the end papers to blot lipstick--super idea! This thread might end up being "50 uses for end papers"! lol
ITG,
That IS a really cute purse. I used to see these a lot, but I think they're getting snagged by collectors/dealers.
I'm always on the look-out for a new purse, a gal can't have too many purses! ;)
Good for you Leah! And what a nice way for things to turn out for you.
Since I started this thread with my tale of woe of an experience wearing FF stockings, I've read a lot more positive experiences. At first, I was a little hesitant about wearing them, especially after the leering man in...
Fleur,
I love, LOVE your hairstyle and color! You're very photogenic!
Keep the pictures coming ladies as I enjoy, as well as learn, from all your wonderful photos! And I'm living proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks. ;)
be_lovely, some places I have very large areas of white. You can kind of see one area just below my neck in the photo. I've tried Dermablend but it doesn't seem to make that much difference unless I really cake it on. The link you gave seems interesting, but it says it's not available. I usually...
Same Old Face--New Haircolor
I think I've gotten my hairstyle down to where I like it--kind of a 30-ish hairstyle, but today I decided to darken my hair color a bit. Since I have vitiligo (That's where my body attacks the pigment cells in my skin and I'm losing my skin color, not at once, but...
Thanks for the great idea. I actually have a simple leather business card case just laying around. The papers don't fit in it perfectly flat, but the design of the case makes getting one out at a time very easy. I think I'll use my envelope-as-a-holder idea for my evening/small purses as its a...
I discovered another use for my end papers--they also make great blotting tissues! I will sometimes use the end papers when I'm curling my hair and I started thinking what else I could use them for. I had gotten mine very cheap, just under $2 at my local Wally World, for 500 papers. Its been...
Anabolina,
Yes, that's me too! I've got several sewing projects going in various stages of production. I think its because I have the attention span of a squirrel!
