I won't buy anything from China, unless it is a last resort, but if you think about it...what does "made in america" really mean anymore...in LA it is often just illegal aliens from Mexico or Central America working in a downtown LA sweatshop.
I agree that LL is the best. They made a custom cascade for me recently and there is really nothing to complain about and very much to admire. I may decide to get buried in it some day. They just get better with age so wear it often!
Why did you decide against Langlitz? I own ~10 moto jackets and unless you are a very serious sport rider that needs some extra protection, their Cascade is awesome to say the least. I just had one made and it fits me 100% perfectly, much better than my Aero cafe...which is also nice, but more...
Go for the Mountie like I did, still pretty reasonable...but seem to be increasing in price lately since they haven't made them in awhile. I like the shorter barrel myself...great light rifle to take to a hike.
Round barrel, the micro groove works great. I like how it doesn't have a safety, up to the shooter to make sure instead. The octogonal barrels are really nice too. I now like buying used guns with just a little bit of wear...for ~half the original price. Recently picked up a Anshutz 1733...
