The best movie was interceptor, very desperate and violent, and it became the baseline for the all the post atomic genre of the 80s.
Personally I don't have hope in this sequel out of time, it's simply too late: every attempt to restart a franchise of this type (Indiana Jones, Terminator...
No, the current production replica of the 40s 613 (that were in steerhide) is the 613XX for the japanese market, they also made an HH version , the XH, but it's difficult to get...I don't know where the plaid came, perhaps by older jacket fo the 30s, but I prefer it. Schott offers the 618 in HH...

I think that in the case of the Regia Aeronautica and the flying services of the Imperial Army and Imperial Navy the problem is the lack of documentation and surviving gear...I wouldn't be surprised to see that naval aviators wore different suits and jackets, the Army and the Navy were two...
Can you post the pics of your jacket? If it has stars on the shoulders it might be a Beck or a Schott 613, the famous one star perfecto that Brando wore in the Wild One. Without pics we can't say how old it is, but the jacket on ebay is not a perfecto....
For the second question, in the 50s...
