A brass band block. These are hard to find, and I only just got it. I've always had to use a stretch block, but this is very nice to have if you are lucky & determined enough to find one.
Some stiff bristle cleaning brushes, and soft bristle brushes, respectively. Also a standard hat brush. The stiff cleaning brushes can be found at dry cleaning suppliers. Be careful, and read Ermatinger on how to use them.
Well, life is returning to normal on my end, and it looks like I got back in time to contribute some photos to keep this thread going.
Here is a Roberts, Cushman & Co. Name-O-Grammar sold by National Hatters Supply Co., Inc.

Chamuco,
Sorry for the long delay. The answer is that it depends. Old light colored hats often have a discolored ring at the "foot" where the brim meets the crown. Re-blocking and a sizing down extends that ring out into the brim, which is unsightly. Better results can be...
Not so!
Harv's hats are en route with a complimentary surprise gift, and I finished one of Rick's hats last night, with the others and Joao's on the bench. Danielle's are next.
I don't expect it matters to some, but I am not a professional hatter like Tom Gomez or the other hatter who...
Hi fellows. Just finished reading the foregoing. I'm truly sorry I've been unresponsive.
I've been spinning out of control for a while with trials, personal illness, and a close family member's illness and ultimately death.
Kingrat's comment is also fair criticism. I have always asked...
I've been buried and had connection issues fellows, but I'm going to be digging out soon. I have resolved the connection issues and am almost above water in my real job as a lawyer. I think I've contacted everyone in the queue personally now, but please PM me if I've missed someone. More to...
I have a very nice and quite rare vintage black Dobbs Double Life that is in your size.
It doesn't fit & the timing is good on my end to part with it. Look up the model & PM me if you are interested, and I'll send photos. It is a pretty wonderful hat because it is lightweight & eminently...
I have one. It is a good hat, but not a GREAT hat. Fairly lightweight. You can find old ads if you look. It is not a lesser quality model, just a named model.
Lizzie, I enjoy reading your posts. In the context of this thread, however, it isn't clear to me how your praise for the "competitive marketplace" conforms with what I also interpreted as approval of the fairness doctrine. These actually seem to be disparate themes to me. Am I missing something?
Photos omitted. I'm with Josh here. It looks to have Playboy dimensions & styling. I'm also on board with mid-50's based on the plastic tip liner & emblem. I'd be happy to have it, marked as Playboy or not, and congratulate you on the purchase.
Thanks Oliver! I'd love to visit and look at your collection in its entirety, but I'd probably make a mess with all the drool...
I've been swamped with trials in my "real" job, but am taking next week off to catch up on other pursuits. That includes working on some space issues - depending on...
I have a hat made by someone I consider to be tops in the custom hatting business, that has no tape at the junction.
The hand stitching Is truly impeccable, but the sweat buckles a bit there, which I attribute to the lack of tape. I like taped sweats and note that many of the sweats on...
I have no explanation. I have seen only a couple of San Antone clones with the mark, and have not yet examined one.
I freely admit that I do not know exactly what the term references despite hours of research, both past & present, with only the results I have shared here.
I am open-minded and...
