Hats For Which I'm Waiting Today
I'm waiting on four hats. Three should arrive tomorrow and another will probably be arriving early next week.
A Stetson Royal Fedora with original box. Looks like it's in really nice condition.
A clean grey straw hat (Imperial brand) with a cool puggaree...
Great thread with many beautiful hats. I'm impressed with the German and Austrian hats shown in this thread.
BTW, be careful what you wish for: I can fit ten in here. ;)

I'll add in your tip on getting the size from the seller. Knowing how the size is arrived at is useful information. I am trying to be selective with what I bid on, but sometimes I'll see something that's almost too good to pass up. Admittedly, I've gotten some really good deals on eBay: Knox...
For some recent eBay auctions here's what I've encountered.
Dobbs - A tan Dobbs fedora (1970's vintage I'm guessing) had a goodly amount of moth larvae damage which was undisclosed. I believe that at least some of the damage can be covered with a wide ribbon, but I shouldn't have to do that...
Nice lid and picture S4C. Inspired by your hat choice, I decided to don my black Knox Madison Avenue. This was acquired on eBay at a very reasonable price due to a badly described item and the sellers lack of hat knowledge. Other than some minimal wear on the sweatband, the hat is in exceptional...
Here's my contribution to the Akubra Overload thread. This is as Sinatra styled Akubra that came from City Hatters in Melbourne Australia. It has a shallow crown, and tapers a lot to the back of the hat. Needless to say, the brim is pretty stingy.

This is quite the looker. As an old friend (now deceased) would have said: "That's slicker than deer guts on a doorknob." I would imagine you get a lot of comments on that beauty.
^ Excellent find! Thanks much @ingineer. That's a nice discount off the price they're asking if you get them direct from Weingarten Gallery. You've made my day. :thumb:
Thanks guys. I'm really tickled with how it turned out, for sure. As far as trying to make replacement ribbons, I'm going to be trying my hand at some replacements in the near future on some of my hats. In particular I have a Dobbs that has a fair bit of moth larvae damage that wasn't disclosed...
I just joined the club. It turns out one of my recent acquisitions is a newer Strat which had a hatband that was a little scruffy to my eye. In any case, the seller turns out to be none other than our own @bond and I was able to get a nice vintage band installed in place of the original.

As promised a few days ago, here are some better pictures of my Flatop. If you look at one of the pictures earlier in the thread, there was a bump under the ribbon on the front of the hat. It turns out the bump was a feather that was placed under the ribbon. I'm not sure why it would have been...
@NewJack that does appear to be a cousin of the Resistol Flatop. I really like the ribbon treatment on your hat. It adds a little extra pizazz to an already cool hat. It's a shame it doesn't fit you. Like you, I'm a 7-1/2 so we're likely bidding against each other for stuff on eBay.
