Tell us your favorite urban walking boot or shoe

I haven't tried any of those, but I am considering it. An interesting alternative vom Canada are those, now also available in Europe: http://www.superdenim.co.uk/prodpage.asp?productid=1016

    New Jackets on Aero site

No, I have seen a Teamster years ago at a local Aero dealer. It's just a less well-known model, especially the long teamster is an interesting design worth considering.

    A Good Summer Casual Jacket

Don't know if this fits your bill, but I like it a lot as a summer jacket: http://www.tripleaughtdesign.com/Apparel/Jackets/OSNS-Jacket

Tell us your favorite urban walking boot or shoe

I have recommended White's in the past and would do so again, especially over the currently ubiquitous and in my eyes quite overrated Red Wings. However I understand your hesitation to buy a pair with no idea of what you are getting, that is in fact quite sensible as they are a special breed...

Different types of leather and their characteristics!

From what I know, the difference in leather in wild animals might be a helpful yardstick. Here, especially in deerskin, which is a very important material for traditional clothing where I come from, the finishing has zero variety. So all the variety one can encounter must lie with the origin...

a visit to a vienese hat factory

They do hats for gents too, but these days the business lies mostly with fashionable hats for the ladies.

a visit to a vienese hat factory

Of course, help yourself. They are a household name in Austria and certainly in Vienna, where it is still de rigeur to wear a hat for the ladies to any wedding or other social event of some significance.

Tell us your favorite urban walking boot or shoe

If you take a look at places like Leffot in NYC, or Garbstore, you'll find hiking shoes and work boots are all the rage at the moment (and have been for a while). That's not to say they've stopped selling desert boots and classic dress shoes.

a visit to a vienese hat factory

Hi folks, a few months ago I was invited to visit the hat "factory" of a friend in Vienna. I thought you might enjoy seeing some of their tools and products, so here are the pictures. http://s221.photobucket.com/albums/dd84/oberland001/muehlbauer_huete/ the company is called...

Different types of leather and their characteristics!

From what I have read and also experienced with my leather jackets and footwear, I feel the tanning and even more so the finishing of the leather might be more important than the type of hide. plus it does make a difference between one hide and another, different parts of the animal (Stay away...

Tell us your favorite urban walking boot or shoe

Have to add Tricker's stow model to the heap of recommendations. And my Sanders scotch grain officer's dress shoes, which have been going strong for five years in as adverse conditions, as a dress shoe get's to face.

    white's boot

Hi Kowalski, I spend a good deal of my time in the mountains as well, but it seldomly drops below -20 Celsius in my quarters. However, I doubt a pair of regular White's are the right kind of boots for freezing temperatures like that. White's seems to believe the same and offers their snow PAC...

How can you tell if a leather jacket is well made?

I believe quite a number of important and insightful factors have been named, I simply want to stress two of them a bit more: - the smell: very good quality leathers have an entirely different and rich spectrum of different smells. I guess it is really the oil that is used at the end of the...

    white's boot

Hi Kowalski, baker shoe is in fact the only online-shop option I am aware of. If you go to White's directly that is also quite possible as CC-1 pointed out, but a bit more oldfashioned with fax, mail etc. In any case, I have ordered two pairs of custom White's through Baker's and it did work...

    My new Aero Cheyenne

the sleeves are 65 cm in length (outside at the top of the shoulder to where it hits the hand), it's 65cm across the back from where the arm pit would be to the other one, but keep in mind it's got a double lining). the back is 81cm long from the seam to the collar down. I love this jacket, my...

Aged Tan Cafe Racer is here

Love it! if I was younger and not as overbuilt, this colour would be a serious temptation for me. Anyway, the way things are with my physique, I'll stick with my plain back black CR.

How warm is Aero's Alpaca lining or any alpaca lining?

@ Gancho: your jacket is an intricate display of your superb taste, congratulations! as for the warmth of Alpacca: I am wearing it as a bias lining in my Cheyenne and it is quite warm in a temperature range from 0 to 10 degrees. So much so, that I often wear it without closing the jacket's...
