I thought I had a fair number of friends and many acquaintances, but over the past six months or so, I learned I had the opposite! I moved over 1,000 miles from my past home in August of 2010. My friends all were talking about keeping in touch, coming to visit, etc. With modern technology...
Some other thoughts on Filson (regardless of country of origin)...... At some point over the past 12 to 24 months, Filson instituted a minimum advertised price policy. When that happened, they lost some dealers and the products became increasingly harder to sell, as unless one wanted to email or...
Stunning hat. Wish I had $600. I have one of Steve's and it's very nice. I've heard that Marc's Deluxe is a finer (softer?) finish and softer sweatband. And, I think the wait now is much longer than a year.
Please note that the Filson is two layers of 24 oz wool - the sleeves have an oversleeve, caped front and back plus a large pocket on the back below the cape. I have the same coat but without the sheepskin collar (called a double mackinaw). By far the warmest coat I have ever had including down...
Might try searching for logging boots or lineman's boots (used for climbing telephone poles). I used to ride with a guy who always wore lineman boots, he was very satisfied with them. Maybe Carolina was the brand? I can't remember but I have some very tall Carolina engineer boots and they have...
All, I saw a link to the Vintage Watch Restorations site this past summer and bought two watches there. Now I just need to pay my truck payment, so here's what I have to offer: http://vintagewatchrestoration.com/inventory/watchdetail.php?itemno=LONC0000315
Price is $25 over the $525 listed...
Not sure whether she is still on ebay, but some years back there was a lady who sold samples of Creed. I checked, at least as best I could and it was the authentic stuff as she'd also sell entire bottles -- and after I ordered some samples from her, I couldn't tell the difference between what...
My two cents worth, mostly because I really love fountain pens and have used them since I learned to write. I think it's how you "display" what you have that makes it austentatious or just part of you. For many years, I worked in a corporate setting and made a lot of money (wish I still did!) -...
Sir, I'd like them. There's a minimum number of posts on FL to be able to get private messages, so please email me at cowboydbwest at gmail dot com with your address and I will send you a money order.
Thank you.
Mine is a medium, I'm 5' 8" and weighed 165 when I bought it. The coat fits fine with plenty of room to probably wear a thick sweater under it, sounds like for you it would be perfect. I got the sheepskin liner for it, too, but honestly, if you don't sew the liner into it, it just comes out a lot.
Mr. Johnson - thanks. Agreed with you (and others) on the gloves, but I have a set of original Harley shearling mittens with cowhide "overgloves" for lack of a better term, they have huge gauntlets on them. Despite the good advice of others on heated clothing, I'm still not un-sold on a B-3. And...
I did look at windshields first, but HD wants over $400 for one with the hardware, so I was thinking about getting a jacket and putting the money toward that. But, that may be the way to go in the long run. Just not sure...
Thanks - I really never thought of that (me being rather dumb..). FQHH with a sheepskin lining does make more common sense. I have been down on the pavement years back and it sure chews up any lighter leathers.
All - I have very limited internet connect speed here on the side of this mountain, so I am sorry that searching is not working as well as I'd like (as this topic may have been asked and answered). A question for you all:
Now that I'm living where it's pretty much cold about 10 months a year...
Agreed. Sadly enough, Elvis just told me that he never owned it. I'm thinking maybe $500 as start and let the market decide (to quote from others here).
What Randy said. A couple days ago, I was asked whether I was an "accomplished hunter." I have no idea what that meant, so I just said "No, I just kill stuff."
Hey, it made the staff at the overly fancy gun shop all get quiet. Yes, my girlfriend later said "no wonder you wear cowboy boots...
