Amazing vintage razor auction

Partly, yes, though I also find the decoration florid and quite inelegant, acceptable for a Baroque church interior perhaps, but not a gentlemans razor. I think it would be much nicer, even in gold, were the decoration less ostentatious.

If I was selling that thing, I'd start at $1,000 and go up from there. Or maybe a bit less. $500-$700. But $10,000 is sadly optimistic.
That sounds reasonable. A thousand bucks seems a better starting point and the market would decide from there.
I'd only pay 10k if it had my initials engraved on it. ;)

I could only see that bringing 10K if it belonged to Elvis or the like.

Agreed. Sadly enough, Elvis just told me that he never owned it. I'm thinking maybe $500 as start and let the market decide (to quote from others here).

I agree with you all, it does look vulgar. Doesn't it remind you of those horrible emails showing the various baubles that oil sheiks in the middle east have gold plated like combs, brushes, telephones and of-course cars? Gaudy junk and WAY overpriced.
