Well, not sure it's vintage per se, but I write on my blog site and I'm supposed to do a book with Seth Anderson Bailey (he's a novelist, check out Amazon for his book or books) - he wants to do something on guns and I'm going to do the 1800 through about 1960 or so group. Somebody else can do...
Dave - Lake St. Louis? My brother is in Arnold.
Anyway.. since this thread is about old time shaving articles, would you all have an affordable source (not cheap, I understand the difference between quality and just junk) but where do you all get your razors and supplies?
Thanks!
David
Skeet, not sure whether to just dislike you (no, not really) or I owe you a fine beverage of your choice - I have been in the Black Hills of South Dakota lately doing some business deals and also waiting for the Rolex dealer up here to get a GMT Master II in stock so I could take a look (I just...
Just as an FYI, Stetson is making some of the old creases again. Gus, Bat Masterson (basically a tall bowler hat with a wider brim). I don't know how they are selling since out of 100 hats, 99 will have the cattleman's crease, but I like the old creases.
Jason - just got a PM from ideaguy and he needs the jacket a lot worse than I do (I have others, he doesn't). He will be contacting you shortly and I'll shoot you an email from work (end of email has "midway" in it). Just a fyi and I am cool with this.
Thanks and we will chat again.
David
email sent. I'm on blackberry too, and getting ready to get some sleep so I won't be able to respond until about 5:30 AM CST. Thanks!
P.S. - don't need photos. I have a ton of Fox Creek in size 42. Great stuff!
Wow what great work everybody is posting. Haven't been on this thread in a while. For the few of you who know me, I am still fighting a nasty divorce and I decided life is indeed short, so don't hesitate to do what you want. I don't wait for "nuthin no more." On my blog (in my sig line) I use...
IF I can get my books from my soon to be ex-wife, I have a hardbound book that BR printed way back, has all the descriptions and line drawings of all their products from about 1988 or so. I should know in about two weeks if I end up with it and would be happy to scan it and post a link to one of...
james - since you mentioned pink shirts, I just bought my first. Wrangler western wear has a "tough enough to wear pink" campaign where the profits go to breast cancer research. It is definitely "PINK" - really clashes with my Browning Hi-Power :D
jaxonbilthats, as someone already posted. Ritch Rand custom hats in Montana. My favorite is Colorado Mountain Hat Company in Fairplay, CO.
If you don't want to spend the custom $$$ that these cost, Stetson just issued an "old west" line from their hat group that has buffalo (bison) fur in...
Very well said.
I do my own sewing, "fuss" (for lack of a better word) over my clothing, like to be well-groomed, etc. Not sure what that makes me but any one person is a larger puzzle than what some writer can attempt to categorize - though I do agree that if the writer had written a...
Lots of memories from this thread. In about 1988, I lost my job at the railroad and my sister suggested I move to Missouri and get a college degree at MU in Columbia. All I owned was dirty work clothes. So, with a big credit card, I went to some mall in eastern Pennsylvania (King of Prussia...
Just wanted to follow up since many of the sales here are only marked "done." Got the jacket from Nick and it is stunning. You all missed a tremendous deal. Meanwhile Nick was incredibly patient as I juggled a paycheck around paypal to get him the money.
If Nick sells anything else, I am...
