Welcome! Others will chime in as well, but if you won't be riding then you probably don't need the cuffs. Most people seem to either be ambivalent about them, or downright not like them (on jackets like the Highwaymen, LHB, etc). I had them on a 50s halfbelt and wasn't crazy about them.
Langlitz deserves a mention in any general conversation involving goat and jackets. I've handled two goatskin Langlitz jackets (one being a tiny cascade that fits my 4 yr old) and those jackets changed my mind about goatskin. Meaning, I went from 'probably not for me' to 'I need to get me a...
It's a great looking jacket, but for that price I would keep looking. I've been tracking Langlitz listings for a while and you should be able to do better. If the jacket was local, you were able to try it on, and you realized you just loved it, then $700 and change could be justified. But to me...
From Self Edge: "All undersides of this jacket are brown (while the jacket outer is all black). This means the underside of the pocket flaps, epaulets, placket, and collars are made of brown horsehide but the entire outer showing parts of the jacket are black."
Anyone know if this will age...
The Beckmans are one of my favorite all-time boots. I love the way they look once they break in. There are better made boots out there, but in terms of value, the Beckmans can't be beat.
I've had plenty of custom boots, some of which I've sold off, others which I love and will always wear, but...
Incidentally, I do like the CR - it looks great from the front. But it does appear roomy from the back for a cafe racer. If you're not wearing it because it feels too big, that seems significant.
ProteinNerd, just realized you'd already stated the jacket is not at all restrictive. My vote is for the Sheen in that size -- if you intend yourself to stay your current size.
Haha, I'm in the middle. I think the BR looks amazing from the front - but without a sliver's breath of extra room. I like the slant pockets, the zip starting a bit higher, and other details which (from the front) give the BR an edge over your CR. But, my immediate thought after "Wow, nice" on...
Hard to be surprised by the hardware, to be honest. I've steered clear of Gustin in general because their hardware is one of the places they cut corners to keep prices down. For me, hardware on jeans, jackets, and bags is just as important as the fabric, and whenever I handle Gustin jeans I find...
I've owned both the IR and the wolverine 1000 plain toe boots. In my opinion, the Wolverines only look dressy if you size down a full size, which some people do. Then, on my feet at least, they look oddly "dainty."
On the other hand, the Wolves look and feel fantastic if I only go down only...
It looks fine to me and I personally wouldn't give it a second thought.
That said, it's your purchase. If you think it's going to continue bothering you, now's the time to forward pics to Holly and clarify the nature of the mark. Probably better than letting us (the peanut gallery) speculate.
