Uh, that's a pretty big measurement botch. Leather jackets aren't boards, but 1.5" discrepency in the length is way off. I guess they included the collar.
That Sheene is killer.
Anyone know what the rear length of a standard size 38 Sheene comes in at? What about size 40? I'm guessing 24.5 - 25" but would love confirmation.
In that respect, they're like the British boot version of Johnson Leathers. Classic, high quality products with tons of options - but 15 years behind on web presentation.
Haha, that's a can of worms! In terms of the types of boots we're discussing here they are essentially just variations of the same aesthetic: robust, well-made gunboats with more or less bulbous toe profiles. Bulbous in a beautiful way, of course.
I disagree. You offered a sound, neat analysis without importing critical terminology that often weighs down written thinking on film.
For me at least, the director's intentions are only a distant second or third consideration. If the visual pattern is there, it will have an impact on many...
Ouch! Sorry to see that...
Reminds of a post from 2-3 years ago of a guy whose dog absolutely dismantled one of his Mister Freedom Road Champs (engineer boots that retail for almost 1K).
I'm totally enamored by what I see of Lennon boots. But living in California I've never had the opportunity to handle any. Are they easy to size? Does anyone offer them in the states? The price / value seems excellent, the boots look phenomenal, and everything I've read / seen about the company...
Score! I would start right there.
White's makes one of the best boots out there and are well worth every penny if you can fit them out in person. I'm a vocal fan of Wolve 1000s and RW Heritage for their value but as Grayland attests White's is on an entirely different level. Do try them on -...
There are so many good options these days. I don't know where you live in California, but a good start would be to determine which boots are locally offered so you can try them on firsthand. See how they size and how they look when worn. It's easy to browse a wide range of 6" plain-toe boots...
Awesome. The epitome of understated cool. Love the stitching and that leather is going to look so, so good in six months. That jacket only has good sides!
That jacket suits you perfectly, Rocketeer. Very nice.
Assuming a good fit, I've observed that a person's general attitude / demeanor / how he carries himself has much more to do with what jacket he can pull off than his physical dimensions. Being tall or short has very little to do with it.
They're all interesting. The cuts and leather look amazing.
I would like to see the rear view of the 4th jacket and would love to see it being worn. Looks neat and different. The upper third of that jacket reminds me a lot like a Langlitz Cascade, but goes on to do it's own thing just south of...
Good discussion. Don't have much to add, can only concur that the landscape of Outerwear has definately changed. When I first started looking in several years ago (long before I actually registered and started participating) it was like an alternate reality - a real wonderland of vintage...
