I'm not saying that there aren't people whose mind may function this way, but might it be possible that statements like that make for a more interesting interview?
I drive through the university campus here for work from time to time. I decided some years ago that I needed to make a conscious decision to try not to look too closely when I realized my kids were older than many of the students on the street.
This place is an hour or so south of me. They have more demand than graduates. If I was 18 again I might consider it.

I was a Poll Parrot kid. Every fall involved a trip to Baymillers to get school shoes whether I liked the idea or not. They always had little packages of fruit flavored Lifesavers for you at the counter after you had been through the Brannock mill and chose your new shoes. We had no Red Goose...
Our last drug store soda fountain/lunch counter went away a few years ago. It was a huge loss to the downtown. The owner sold out to one of the mega chain joints and he also went to work for them. I kind of feel bad for him though. He looks miserable every time I see him behind the pharmacy counter.
Me too, but I'd almost tolerate it if I could get ham, eggs and coffee for a quarter.
An advertising thing you don't hear anymore would apply to the real 7up sign.
"Accept no substitutes!" It has been years since I've heard/seen that in an ad.
Fallen Angel. Pretty decent movie about a con man (Dana Andrews), a waitress (Linda Darnell), and a sheltered wealthy lady (Alice Faye).
The con man chases the waitress, but she wants a man with money, so he sets out to swindle the rich girl to get it.
Things don't turn out the way he expected.
Pitfall from 1948 with Dick Powell, Lizabeth Scott and Jane Wyatt. Powell is an insurance guy who gets tangled up with a crooks girlfriend while trying to recover stolen money. Jane Wyatt is his wife. Raymond Burr is an ex-cop shifty P.I. Cautionary film noir on the perils of adultery. No...
In my youth it was Monty Python and other similar acts from your shores. I and many others thought they were hilarious, others did not agree so they were not as popular as I thought they should have been.
^^ I never cease to be amazed by K-9 families. Fiercely loyal to each other despite their Mutt and Jeff appearance. One of my old neighbors had a Yorkie and a Boxer who were inseparable.
Started season 1 of The Waltons on Amazon. It reminds me very much of my paternal grandparents and how they (and by extension, I to a degree) lived up into the late 1970's/early '80's. Taken as a whole, we are not better off, and I still see it as a loss.
You can have your very own flying red horse! If you think he's a bit steep, offers are accepted. :D
