I think the most important thing is the sleeve measurement- length would be difficult to increase. They have a bout 4" total of stretch, I would say 2 " would be realistic and still be able to wear them. $30 apiece or $50 for both (plus shipping)

Hi
Sorry those are the only authentic WWII sweaters I have- modern 5-button sweaters are easy to come by and if you replace the buttons they are dead ringers for WWII sweaters.

Selling to continue the obsession...
Jacket #4: I made this one using more A-2 features. One piece back, two piece arms, Dubow A-2 collar, epps, and pockets. A-2 patterns have the shoulder seam sloped farther back then my civilian pattern and the Dubows have a more generous cut in the body than...
Sizes:
They have about 4" total of stretch, so I would say you could comfortably add about 2 inches to the measurements and have a nice snug fit. Sweater #1 has the snagged waist knit and is a little more beat up than #2. These are surprisingly heavy sweaters.
Back From Bottom of collar :

So I had some friends try this thing on to see if I could figure out the correct size. Unfortunately even a size 42 binds the arms when you raise them up and straight out forward. So I resorted to my favorite altering tool: the washing machine. Soaked the jacket then spun dry it. Put the wet...
Thanks guys- I'm going to have to try having them widened- I don't need much, just another 1/4 inch or less. I wonder who actually made the the Cockpit boots- they say "English Made" on the inside.
Cheers

If you re-sole, can they be widened?
I've been wearing my Cockpit 1980's vintage '36ers lately in the yard and snow and the lug soles Avirex put on them are way too slippery- also I'm a 9.5 E (U.S.) and these are a bit too tight on the pinky toe, probably a little small too, can't really wear...
Shearling uppers (note the B-3 tag!?), leather lowers (no shearling in the lowers). I'm including some buckles and straps to replace the broken ones. 9.5 E or a narrow 10. $50 plus shipping.
Cleaning out my collection:
15X34 "Rangoon" style (scalloped pockets) chocolate officers shirt. Eastman charges $100 for the repros, here's an original for $50 + shipping. Good condition, slight snags on the upper right sleeve (see pics)
14X32 standard chocolate shirt. Nice 15th AF patch...
That's really an impressive jacket- and basically a longer version of the one I just made, minus the knits and with larger armholes and slash pockets. It looks like the back tapers in a bit like most 3/4 coats I have seen, but it's very hard to tell from the photo. I'd be concerned about it...
I was trying to make something different- John already makes superb A-2's and I didn't want to get into the "perfect A-2 replica" argument. But each of the three I have made have kept getting closer and closer to an A-2 anyway. If I make another of this pattern I will probably just add a...
Thanks everybody- this shot of jacket #3 in daylight is probably the closest to the true color. I bought enough of this leather to make two jackets, on jacket #5 (going to be an ANJ-3) I will try a different hide.

I finally finished the next jacket. I made a different pattern for this one, based more on an A-2, essentially a Dubow body (one pice back, two pice arms) with narrow arms. I noticed that the A-2 patterns have a different shoulder cut than the civi jacket I originally used. In an A-2 the...
The only cure I know of is to go down the path I took- learn how to make your own jackets. Once you realize that you can make something as good as the big manufactures and in YOUR size, every other jacket becomes a pattern, not a collectible...
'Course then the obsessive side switches to hides...
I've been thinking a lot about what size to make my next jacket (after I finish the one I'm working on). I need to practice different sizes so I'm interested in what everybody thinks is a good "generic" size to try- I know we are generally stouter about the tum these days, butafter having been...
Speaking of which, it's 22 F here in the cities this morning, got to wear the B-3 over a very light sweater and my B-6 "gunners" cap- kept me nice and warm...
