2 movies come to mind for me at the moment...
"JohnQ" - Towards the end of the movie Denzel Washington has a scene where he states, "I will not bury my son! He will bury me". I had such a strong emotional connection to this movie given my own heart condition and what my own parents had to...
Wow... I always thought that the Star Trek ships and shuttles were all miniature models as opposed to being large... crazy that you saw it at a junk yard of all places. :)
Where is Cahuenga Blvd? I assume Hollywood or elsewhere in Cali?
Decades back I recall reading that fans of the series hated being called "Trekkies" and instead preferred to be called "Trekkers"... has this changed and now folks prefer to be called "Trekkies"?
That's really cool that you were one of the original folks who wrote to NBC to bring the show back for its 3rd season. :)
I would love to attend a Star Trek convention someday just for the sake of experiencing the craziness there. :)
What a great idea for a post! I'm a longtime fan (3+ decades) and though initially the original Star Trek series was my favorite one, I eventually became so hooked on the Next Generation series and later the Voyager series.
My favorite Next Generation episodes include the series finale...
Wow... there's a show I haven't heard about in so many years. I was 7 when the series premiered in 1980. I never really watched the show but I remember seeing the opening theme song though I can't recall for the life of me how that song goes now. :)
Wow... that vehicle is a beast! Thanks for providing the wikipedia link, David... I never knew that vehicle was in multiple movies, let alone one. Interesting that the picture you posted was from whatever point in time it was on the showcar circuit. I started on the showcar circuit from 2007...
Haha!!! Great point you made about being able to stop and rewind if one has a service like DirectTV or even Tivo. I was actually referring to times when watching movies at the theater, though I did recently on the tv at my parents house (they have Dish Network and can stop and rewind TV) see a...
Thanks Cooperson! I'm extremely happy with the jacket, though I haven't worn it too much since I want to get that tear fixed in the back of the jacket first so that I don't make the tear bigger thru normal wear.
This post has reminded me to thank everyone here in the Outerwear subforum... why? Prior to me joining this site I never really paid much attention to the leather jackets worn in tv shows and movies, but now the moment I see any leather jacket in a movie I'm entirely focused on it... this is...
Sorry if this may sound like a dumb question but what exactly is an oilskin coat? Is it basically a leather treated with some sort of oil to make it water resistant? Is this style of coat pretty much used as a raincoat or do folks wear it in dry weather too?
You have an AMAZING talent, Mark... beautiful jackets!
I'd love to learn how to make my own leather jackets someday but sadly my sewing skills are zero and would need to first learn how to stitch a simple button, lol. :D
Afterall... you can't walk until you've taken those first baby...
Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new jacket in the best of health. :)
I for one don't think you're a poser at all... it's your jacket and you're allowed to "modify" it any way you please... I understand your reasoning to want to make it look more worn... not to fool people into thinking...
Haha! Yeah, I noticed you spelled my name right this time. ;)
Very cool about the fencing as well as the Argentinian Tango.
Thanks for the info about the Aero sleeve zipper location and for the pics as well. Good point about the sleeves needing to be trimfit. Given the sizing changes...
Welcome to the forum, Mark. I look forward to seeing pics of your new jacket once it arrives. :)
I ordered my first and currently only Aero FQHH leather jacket (NYPD) earlier this year and was concerned initially with sizing due to my tummy area being disproportionate to the rest of my body...
