I had forgotten all about that! :eusa_clap I must have been 10 or 11. Between that and WPIX horror films and Phillies games, my Saturdays were pretty well booked ... at least in the winter months.

and Rudy Vallee singing the theme song? (It was the last recording of his career, in fact.)
I didn't know that, nor that it was so late in his life when he recorded it. After all these years, the theme song still sticks in my head as well as the opening lines each week...

Wow... there's a show I haven't heard about in so many years. I was 7 when the series premiered in 1980. I never really watched the show but I remember seeing the opening theme song though I can't recall for the life of me how that song goes now. :)

I remember the show very well. I would tape it on my vcr. They had to edit down the run times of the "feature" to make it fit into the schedule.

Was it brought back with Debbie Reynolds as host? I thought I saw that somewhere...

I was a faithful viewer in the summer of 1984, just after serving in the armed
forces, and before returning to school.
I think it came on after the morning's Olympic "coverage"

First of all ... DANG ... you are kids!

Secondly, wasn't that the program that introduced many of us to Riders in the Sky?

Didn't they perform an intro segment, or was that another vintage movie program?

Just wondering,

Sam

Yes, that's right.
They filmed some actors getting out of a vintage auto, in front of a cinema in B&W.
