Picked up a couple of interesting jackets from Spain and Italy this past wknd...

Except for the waistband, those jackets don't look bad at all. Personally I think the reason why the waistband is so pronounced on the leather jacket that I'll be giving my dad is because the jacket length is too short for my body. If the length were a little longer then the waistband would...

Thanks bro! I didn't think you were off topic and even if you were it's all good... I'm pretty laid back with the posts in my thread so no worries. :)

Haha!! I was waiting for you to post, my friend. I will humbly respect the peacoat police. p.s. I STILL like "Cuorduroy Pijjekker" so I'll call it that. :D

No, no... you and Jan are still on topic... I did ask the question afterall what constitutes a peacoat, so you both answered my question. Forget me calling my new cuorduroy coat a peacoat... from now on I'll tell people I have a cuorduroy Pijjekker and their look of confusion as to what I...

Any vintage table tennis collectors here besides myself?

I also purchased a vintage 1950s table tennis robot on eBay that I'll post up pics of as soon as I receive it. It's nice because I can use the robot to shoot table tennis balls at me which I can hit back with my paddle, then the ball would hit a net that's connected to the robot and fall into a...

Haha!!! I shall humbly obey your request to pass that jacket onto my dad, mein freund. :D Thanks for the good info you provided me... I never realized that the peacoat can trace its roots linguistically back to the Netherlands... very cool. :)

Any vintage table tennis collectors here besides myself?

This is my first time I'm posting in this subforum... I'm normally in the Outerwear subforum, so allow me to kindly introduce myself and my vintage table tennis collection... My name is Navin and I have a unique, special story to share. I was born with a congenital heart condition and I'm a...

Ciao, my friend! Great points you made... you are right, I can call it what I want, but I'm still curious what the criteria is for a jacket to be considered a peacoat. Have you heard of the Italian brand, Parri's? I've never heard of it myself. Navin

Gents... am I correct in my assumption that the Spain jacket is a cuorduroy pea coat or is it simply a cuorduroy double breasted coat? I'm uncertain what the criteria is for a coat to be classified as a "pea coat", but either way I'm happy with the jacket and love the golden brown color of it. :)

Haha! I appreciate the honest feedback about the waistband... I just better not let my dad see your post otherwise he'll throw the jacket back in my face, LOL. :D I had my dad try on the jacket before he left for India (his 89 year old eldest living brother is on the verge of passing on)...

Jacket #2 (Italy) - Leather bomber style jacket - Size 42 Feels a tiny bit snug compared to the normal sized leather jackets I wear so I'll give this to my father as a gift to him. He needs a nice leather jacket. :D Has anyone here heard of this jacket brand (Parri's)? Thanks...

Picked up a couple of interesting jackets from Spain and Italy this past wknd...

So every weekend I take my older daughter for her swim class in an indoor facility and right next door is an upscale thrift store that usually has some interesting stuff including all clothing, toys, books, houseware, etc. I found a couple of interesting jackets at that thrift store... one...

Would you like me to give you one of my infant daughter's diapers for you to use? LOL... just kidding, bro. :D Congrats!!! I know how excited you've been all this time to finally get this jacket in your hands. I'm equally excited for you, my friend. :)

Action shots of you in your best leather...post 'em up!!!

Very cool jacket, John! I had no idea you play the string bass... I'm a violinist myself... both acoustic and electric, and a singer as well. It's nice to finally associate a face to your screen name, bro. :) Cheers, Navin

    Collar up?

That's a great suggestion to put the collar up the way you mentioned. :) Keeping the back up and the points rolled over and down... won't that cause the collar to develop the crease lines at the areas on the points that are folded down, and also will it cause the collar to bend out of shape...
