I can't say I'm surprised. When I was a kid our church had Monday night bingo in the community center. The ladies all took turns fixing and selling food and drink while the men served and cleaned up.
I don't recall any actual fisticuffs being reported, but I do remember my parents talking...
This intrigued me so I did a bit of scrounging. I found this image of a similar car that was going to auction.
If you look at Google images of 1920s pedal cars, some of them are very fancy and intricate.
When we first moved into town our across the street neighbor who was very particular about the appearance of his yard had a problem with a woman allowing her 2 dobermans to poop in his yard. It was apparently just the right distance from her house to his for them to be ready to unload. He spoke...
I have always wondered what makes people think that this and similar public behavior is acceptable. Not only because others are using the same bubbler and find it disgusting but because somebody else has to clean up after them.
Thoughtlessness and entitlement are not new.
I introduced my wife to Corner Gas last night. I laughed like a hyena, she said she thought it was kind of a weird show, but I caught her snickering several times. I think she will watch with me again.
I spent a lot of time with my Uncle Mike who was kind of the if not black, at least gray sheep of my grandfather's siblings. He always told me "son don't let any of these old broads around here fool you, about 90% of them could still remember how to pop the seat cushions out of a Model T and lay...

My wife sings in a praise band at church.
Their piano player of a few years finished his masters degree and left last year. He sent her a Facebook message recently letting her know that he had been hired by the Miller Orchestra and will be going on the road shortly.
I have no idea why but I've always been fascinated with those little milk trucks.
I found a decent little Divco a few years back, but my wife's perplexed look brought me back to reality. ;)
I haven't been for several years, but there was a McDonald's in New Salem state park outside Springfield, Illinois. New Salem was a little town where Abraham Lincoln got started in Illinois. It was abandoned until the state took it over and fixed it up. It didn't look like a McDonald's on the...
There were not. I did a bit of googling to see what else I could find, and although there were many vintage prints I didn't find any others like these.
The red tips are a pretty aggressive razor so experimenting with different blades is probably a good idea. I favor Feather blades with Gillette Black as second choice, but they might be a bit much for a red tip especially if you're just starting out. Good luck, it is an enjoyable hobby besides...
Agreed. For some reason I have sought out different versions of the song and Goodman's is the winner. Of course, Helen Forrest is also a favorite, so I might be a bit biased by that.
