I saw a ad on the internet for a Apprentice hat maker. I see now the hatter may have found his apprentice...
To funny I had to share this...:) :) :)
Sir,
My name is Cleetus Pennybacker and I wish to prentice with you. I cannot tell a lie and tell you that I have made me a hat but...
Vintage block...
I hope you can post some pics with the hat on your head. I have never seen this block that Art did for you... I love vintage blocks...:) :eusa_clap :)

 No FDR. Hat...The note was a part of the package I got with my hat.
The seller said he bought "my hat" at a Estate Sale and he never saw the FDR Hat. I bet its part of some private collection !!
I wish it was FDR hat!!:)
Casa Arcentales... Guayaquil, Eucador
When I got the hat this was a small part of the package.:)

Is the same company that made FDR Montecrist Panama hat
Upon the death of my parents, I inherited many of these items, including a straw-colored linen Panama hat...
More for the block than the hat...
It was not listed properly on Ebay a year or so ago. I paid around $30.00 for it but I had put in my snipe program a max of $500.00.
The blocking cost me $180.00 because of the value of the hat.
Here is a 1923 Casa Arcentales Montecristi Panama Hat. The hat was sent from an Ecuadorian Diplomat to the US Secrectary of State. The hat was in a wooden box and has the original pricetag which listed $150.00 dated Feb 1923. The hat was blocked by Graham at Optimo Hat Co of Chicago. He said...
