Ok, this thread is going to be a "Sticky" one! I want measurements! Coat and pant size... general such as for example: 42L coat and 36 waist and 34 inseam. Also, hat size, shirt size and shoe size.

Marc and I will keep our eyes open for vintage for you men... so, please state your size and we'll keep our eyes open.

I really go for 1930s vintage suits, fedoras and shoes.


My hat size: 7 1/4

My height: 5' 11"

My preferred suit jacket measurements: My suit size is 39-40R, which means that the jacket's chest, measured flat from armpit to armpit, should be about 44" (on a later '30s suit). The jacket's back length should be 32 to 32 1/2" inches long from the top of the collar to the bottom of the jacket. 18" from shoulder to shoulder. 24" sleeves from shoulder to cuff.

My preferred trouser measurements: 33-34" waist. 31-32" inseam. Trousers with cuffs.

My shirt size: 16-16 1/2" neck. 34"-35" sleeve.

My shoe size(s): 8 1/2 E, or 9 D, or 9 1/2 C. Shoe sole's outer length should be about 11 7/8" long. Shoe sole's width should be about 4" wide.

Jacket: 42L typical; I believe I can do a 42R or 41L depending on cut; actual measurements...not sure at this point. 19" shoulder to shoulder works well, I do know that
Trou: Size 33-34, 32" inseam, 31" for little to no break, I think (again, no concrete measurements)
Shoe: 12D...Yes, Root, I know, I know...
Shirt: 16-16-1/2, 34-35
Height: 6'-1"

I prefer peaked lapels, vertical stripes, high crowns, 2 1/2" brims, '30s cuts and brocade ties. Love two-tone shoes, not necessarily spectators, either.

I like 30s,40s,and 50s styles (covering all bases here folks!)
Hats: It turns out that I'm actually 7 3/4 (originally I thought that I was 7 7/8. It was the extra long oval part that made me think that),Extra Long Oval. Tall crown, medium brim or shorter crown and brim (again, covering all the bases... ).
Jackets: 38 R , L is O.K.,too. DB or SB. Not too much padding in the shoulders.
Trousers: 31 or 32 inch waist. 31/32 length with cuffs
Shirts: 14 or 14 1/2 neck. 32/33 sleeve. 35 chest. Some mediums are good if the shirt is more tailored (not baggy).
Shoes: 9 1/2 US. Narrow to regular width
I'm 5' 9", 142 to 148 lbs. (I tend to "see saw" in weight. I keep my closet stocked with trousers sized between 30 in. waist and 35 in. although I'm trying to stay around 31/32").

I really dig late 40's-mid 50's fashions, and what one would consider Rockabilly style! Flecks, slashes "atomic" tweeds and patterns! I like gabardine if ya know what I mean!

I'll start with the easy stuff:

Head: Call it 7 3/8" for vintage. Art's hats fit me best, though
Inseam 32-33"
Shoe: ~10.5D (9.5EEE works, and 10D sometimes does also)

Suit: For vintage, I haven't a clue. On a modern jacket, I almost always require a 46R in order to accommodate shoulders & chest. Tailoring through the waist is almost always necessary, also. Don't know my exact measurements.
Waist: 38", but at least with modern trousers, I almost universally have to start with a 40" waist and have them tailored down in order to get enough room in the hips & thighs.

My like very high waisted trousers and double breasted jackets in any variation. I'm looking for suede chukka boots, and British Officer's field boots. Vintage sport sweaters, tweed shooting or Norfolk jackets... I'm to tall to be picky.
