Just thought I'd share my beret Pintrest board.

A bit of a spot for inspiration. A fair amount tagged from Daan's blog The Beret Project.
Wearing a beret takes a bit of courage so it's good to have a spot to collect some inspiration.
Like the beret and the commitment - but having come off a motorbike due to a u-turn driver who saw indicators and head checks as against her civil liberties I was glad for my helmet, leathers, boots and my beloved nanny state - which also prosecuted the driver and then funded my rehab.
Hello, may I respectfully submit my application to join the Triple A's? Below are photos of my Adventurer out of the box.
This is by far my widest brim so I'm a little worried about wearing it out. I think the 'swoop' is a bit much - interested in some feedback and advice on how to safely...
I wonder if it's for attaching your cap to when you hang it up when out and about. Using the button on top of the cap. it would keep it all together. Possibly a dumb suggestion just trying to think what it might be for.
I play two instruments.
Classical guitar, I don't perform live, often a panama as I play outside or when traveling (with my Martin Backpacker). Guitar is my contemplation - calm down instrument.
Irish Flute (another McGee flute like Woodfluter), a few pubs, I've worn a Basco Roma Beret and...
I saw a 'hipster' wearing a deer stalker the other day. He had a large pea coat, none to narrow darkish pants and a bag slung while he walked his bike. The grey tweed deerstalker looked good. I think the bicycle made it all work.
BTW - thanks for starting this thread. Haven't been game to...
I got a great set of tails once from a formal wear company with old stock they couldn't move. It was a little worn but spruced up with a good brush. Worked well when I was a University student - turning up to parties in tails a little worse for wear. A little 'My man Godfrey' - which fit me fine
I don't agree. I think culture is 'revived' when it responds to something missing in society and can be formed as high or low culture. William Morris and others revisioned the middle ages and renaissance long after any of it had faded from any version of living memory. For a while medieval was...
It's interesting. I shot them an email a while back recommending something or other on the lounge. I got a very nice email back thanking me for my note and an expression of surprise that the lounge existed and was so well subscribed. it seemed odd but I think it's in part that so much of their...
I agree wholeheartedly. Questioning yourself is normal - and I'm certain it's not just us. I'm certain the guy with the crotch of his pants round his knees wonders sometimes if he should invest in a belt and just pull them up and walk like a grown up.
Yobs and fools are hurtful (my favorite was...
That's a shame. I'm often surprised the opportunities Akubra misses to promote their product. Sack their ad agency I say.
Also was poor copy!
"AKUBRA TURNS 100 HOWEVER, WE ARE STILL FRESH AND VIBRANT"
However? A little pride in the history and place of the company is more than in order.
For me it's when vintage is unnoticeable. Two cases in point.
1) in the front of my property getting the mail when around the corner comes Bill - an old guys from down the road. I hail well met and he responds the same. A few moments later his wife and her friend round the corner. I...
Always good to bump an old thread!
One thing I like about Millers is that it's based on Hammets work - Red Harvest and The Glass Key. Both stories are great but I couldn't imaging anyone doing Red Harvest justice in film. The Cohen brothers took such great story lines and stylised them...
