I've got a "Jiffy" steamer, been using it for years, and it does a fantastic job of pumping steam out-just have to be attentive to what's going on (or you'll do something like shrink the sweatband on a super Stetson 25, like I just did this week); I've done searches for the steamer under...
was that a thinly-veiled dig? ( kidding...)
wore my hair very short for a long time, now reverted to the 60's; there is
too much of a good thing. very hard to look less than cro-magnon with a fedora, unless I wear a pony-tail. horses wear them too, and I'm afraid that I make an impression...
price is reduced to $100.- plus shipping...
also have a Stetson Open Road, 7 1/4, tan, fine condition- needs liner, photos available- email me at adhoc.idea@comcast.net
I've got a Western hat that's now for sale-rather put it up here first, tired of eBay's games. The hat is a Resistol 5X "Rancher", 7 1/4 L/O, "Crystal" color.
The felt, liner, ribbon, sweatband- all immaculate. Hat was worn very little, and taken care of meticulously.
The sweatband reads...
Just received a great Resistol 25 from an eBay win; problem is, really strong
tobacco smell from box & hat. Box-burn it. But how do I get the tobacco smell out of the hat??? Any ideas??
that is one SWEET hat! and I envy your prestidigitation: now it's open crown-
presto! the nicest bash I ever did see... and the hat's my size.:eusa_clap
It's Grad school. simple. look at all that gibberish for all those hours, trying to
remember half of it-and you realize that you've been holding your breath for most of the time. Especially when you have to read the same paragraph 3 times to get close to understanding what's what...
SO-...
HOLY SMOKES!!!
thought I'd seen it all in unusual clothing- this one's right up there-and in it's
very odd combination of design/material/function- darn, it works!!
Not my cuppa tea-but someone's gonna get a real winner of a jacket-
great eyes!
Oh, that IWC...
I've got an IWC- "Porsche Design"-from the early 70's if I'm correct on dating- terrific watch, chrono that is always spot-on, black that's starting to lose some of the black finish, finally, not bad after 30 some odd (in my case, very odd)
years of almost daily wear.
IWC...
Stetson One Hundred
Wonderful hat!!!
I'm lucky enough to own one- and they broke the mold when they made this
one- absolutely top class-congratulations!! Word of advice: ( 2 words)
WEAR IT!!
I got lucky and scored a 7 3/8 LO- pristine-and get looks and questions every
time I wear it-...
Hey buddy- spare a hat?
Long time no hear from, and now- you tempt me with a Pinnacle; no photos?
I'm not familiar with the look, but have heard the name, and am very interested;
I'm wearing a 7 1/2 now with my very long overdue haircut ( and not going to get one, neither!)- think I could...
sorry all- health got in the way of photographing/poring through archives of photos and listing them, and getting back to everyone; I'll soon get a number of 7 1/4's & 7 3/8's up, but can't guarantee the exact date-seeing too many
Doctors too often to catch my breath and try and do some...
OK-
as a former antiques dealer, my rusty advice is to get photos of it to as many
dealers in your area as possible; take better photos, with the plastic off,
front, side, back, tip it over(!) and take one with the cushion off ( if it comes off); dealers will pick up - it's their business to...
OK- time to purge my collection of hats, once and for all; most are Vintage
fedoras, many OR's, a few Borsalino's, all in good enough condition that it
makes me sad to even think about letting them go; truth is, health isn't great
right now, and could use some $$;
I have an "Ambassador"...
there are none. unfortunately.
I live about 40 minutes from you-if you're looking for a specific hat, or one in
7 1/4, 7 3/8...I may have something for you. Large collection trying to become smaller.
PM me if interested
