Fed, You are not a pain. I understand you wanting to know the exact size. All I can do is describe it the best I can. If the hat wasn't close to my size I couldn't have given this description and would have had to just list it as a 59. Since it is close to my size I can tell by putting it on...- Landman

The hat has a size 59 tag in it. I just wanted any potential buyers to know that it fits slightly tighter than my other Akubra's in size 59. I would not call it a 58 because it is not that tight. I have no way to accurately measure the size so that is all I can tell you.- Landman

USPS Sucks
I have sent and received quite a few hats and other items by USPS Priority Mail and have never had a problem. All these items have been within the USA so I'm sure that makes a big difference not having to transfer the package to another entity. Maybe I have just been lucky but I much prefer the... -

John, that turned out great! The felt really cleaned up nicely and the ribbon work is very well done. Like Ole, I read a 1/2" on the measuring tool. Is that instrument made especially for brim bindings and reads the total of both sides or am I misreading it? -

Yes, it fits tighter than my other 59's. I'm sure David Morgan would have exchanged it but I just never got around to calling them about it. It has been sitting in the box since last year and is just like it was when it came from them.- Landman

If they are anything like my black one I think you will like them. I wonder why Stetson went with so many different shades of brown on this first run. Seems like one shade of brown and another color like silverbelly would have attracted more buyers. -

I didn't know there was a Tawny Stratoliner either. I thought there was only Black, Mink and Cornhill. That's great if there is. I hope they make them in many different colors. That Knox looks fantastic. I can't wait to see the rest of it! -

Harv, Normally I can wear an Akubra 59. At least in a Campdraft I can. For some reason this one is smaller. Might be the block they use for it. I would describe it as a large 58 compared to my 59 Campdrafts. I hope that helps.- Landman

jskeen, How can you tell the hat you posted is a renovated Shudde Brothers rather than one they made? I have several Shudde Brothers hats and I always assumed that sweatband and liner represented a hat they made. I need to get mine out and take a closer look. Thanks. -
