Congrats! I'm thinking really hard about getting the same done since Shawn posted it on the FB page. I'll be waiting impatiently for your fit pics!

    Vintage Style vest / singlets...

I'd check for the usual suspects in WW2 reenactment (ATF, WPG, SOF...), most of them carry white and OD vest.

    BRACES (SUSPENDERS)

Try to get some button-up suspenders. The clip-ons really look too much like a hipster or 90's thing and are not vintage at all :-)

    Shave of the Day

I shave every other day. The skin on my throat is very sensitive, and I don't need to shave every day for work, so no need for more. Since I've started to shave again, I'm very much enjoying this time in the morning. I had to adapt the schedule to find some times in between my wife's morning...

    What are you listening to?

Their cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit is absolutely fabulous!!

    What are you listening to?

I listened to the first mini episode (around 20 minutes) of SNAFU, a podcast recounting the events of a fictious USAAF Bomb Group in Europe during WW2. It was very enjoyable, immersive and well told. It reminded me of my grandparents telling me they used to gather around the radio in the...

    Shave of the Day

Trying to get as much as I can from the blades, indeed :-). Tried the Feather again, and it's way too aggressive for me. I'll go back to the Astra Platinum as soon as possible, this seems to be the best working ones for me at the moment.

    Shave of the Day

It's now been 3 months since I've started shaving with a DE razor, and I've been constantly nicking my neck while doing so, no matter how precautions I am. Every shaving guides of any sort I've been looking at advised about the importance of preparing the shave with a hot/humid towel to soften...

    Vanishing point fit?

Man, that fit is perfect! The length just about covers your belt, you should really not be bothered about it. And that leather is aging damn well, too!

    Five Star Leather Jackets

Dunno about the upper limit, but it's been between 0°C and 2°C today, humid with quite a bit of wind and I was all warm and toasty outside with my D-1, simple t-shirt and Pike Brothers flannel shirt underneath. When the winds gets too much, popping the collar up and closing it helps quite a bit too.

    Five Star Leather Jackets

@Marc mndt this is a size 40 (where I usually wear a size 42), with customs body and sleeve length! Indeed, not sure I could have gone for a better fit. Maybe shorter in the body, but then it wouldn't have covered my back enough when not wearing high waisted trousers. @Carlos840 , are you...

    Five Star Leather Jackets

Forgot to post this here, but I received my D-1 about 3 weeks ago. It's been my go to jacket since then, perfect for the actual weather. Shawn did a helluva job, fit is bang on what I requested. I couldn't be happier with a jacket!

Help steer me with 1940s pants? (Reproductions or approximations)

Interesting, very interesting! I never considered their trousers because of inseam length that would be too short for me. Now that may open a whole new perspective! Thanks for the tips, Edward!

Help steer me with 1940s pants? (Reproductions or approximations)

Aaaah, forgot about those! So you mean... Let's say I order a pair in 34 length (which is the longest they offer), I'd be able to undo the cuffs and add one inch or two to the inseam?

Help steer me with 1940s pants? (Reproductions or approximations)

SJC does some amazing pieces of clothing! I think this is what happens when a true passionate goes to town. Regarding the wool trousers, I also often wear a repro M1937 US Army trousers from What Price Glory. Very high waisted, wide legs, nice wool, it's got everything to please except pleats...

    Shave of the Day

Thanks for the tip! To be honest, I planned on going with it as long as I felt it was ok, be it 5 or 50 times. I usually don't buy the "it's good for X uses" and rather experiment for myself. Seen I don't shave every day, I suspect a blade will go a long way for me.

    Shave of the Day

Actually had my third shave with the feather blade without any blood spill. It took me a bit of time, but I think I'm getting the hang of it, and I really love the whole preparation and everything. And yeah, the result is far above what I've ever experienced in my previous shaving days.
