I used it on my ELC 1942 Patt. Irvin - with great success. The leather had that dried-out "aged" finish that never impressed me (and yet I loved everything else about the jacket) and I tried all sorts of conditioners on it and it just drank the lot of whatever I used and then reverted to its...
Two words: Timeless cool.
I'm not into biker jackets per se, as, for me, I just feel that the military jackets suit me better and feel that they fit me body and soul for some inexplicable reason - and I just don't have that look about me. But I have to say Monitor, seeing your jacket and then...
Not sure that I quite agree, Monitor. I'm broke too, so we're in the same boat - and I feel the same yearnings for another fix. There's nothing worse than an itch you can't scratch …
And yet, I find myself living vicariously through the many others here who can buy something nice for themselves...
Interesting to know …
And thank you kindly, Smithy! :) And I'm debating whether or not to put an original WW2 vintage patch on the front right breast (no shoulder patches - just the one) - it's a great design in orange and blue, so they're complimentary colours and it'd look great on the redskin...
I'm glad you got the patch - at that price, it could be useful for reference if nothing else.
I've been hunting my usual militaria sites and can't see the patches you're after … So I'd contact this company: http://6thjune1944.com
They make incredible quality patches at fair prices and I have one...
Firstly, I'm glad that your wife is on the mend. Good to hear.
Secondly, this is what I love to see on TFL (this section) and I think it's fantastic that a jacket like this, after all this time, ends up with a person such as yourself; someone who knows what it is and appreciates it for that -...
I'm not into civilian type jackets at all (as many here will attest) - but I do know what I like and I think it looks great on you and I'd be well pleased with that fit as well (you having bought it relatively sight-unseen and not trying it on first) - and I know a bargain when I see one and...
As "Hannibal" used to say in The A-Team: "I love it when a plan comes together!" And quite right too.
A top result and the jacket looks great - and your smile says it all. A great photo!
Siggy - I think I can feel another order coming on for TPD's son's A2 …! :) Great work!
Welcome to the Lounge Sobrien, and that's one beautiful heirloom you have there!
Getting an embroidered patch around here would be a mite tricky, but there are a few members here who specialize in painted military patches on leather and are very good about it too, but I see that your VS-22...
As perhaps the very last person who was really wanting to see SW and still hadn't, I finally saw SW last weekend and totally loved it! It made me feel like a kid all over again! And what a shocker too … I had no idea about Han. I'm still incredulous.
Now I want to go back and see it again - but...
Oh, it's INCREDIBLE on the big screen. I saw it at the TIFF Lightbox cinema last Fall - one showing only (and "Alien" came on afterwards!) and in a 2K presentation and the cinema was full.
I'd not seen BR since the original cinema release and that was at the old ABC cinema in Sheffield. I know...
PS. And you could also send a PM to Xopher and ask him what the length of his B-6 is? At 5'7", he's not a big fella either, I notice.

ACT??
You're welcome - glad to help.
And what Tonypaj meant by a "tapered" fit, I think he was referring to the D-1's more "boxy" cut on the body (just like a B-3) compared to the B-6 which is a little more rectangular (as it's a touch longer in the body) and is cut just a bit trimmer and can...
This is my ELC RW B-6 taken a couple of years ago.
It's a standard size 42 - and I'm not a big guy either - I used to be 5'8" but was rather startled to discover that I'm now 5'7" at my last annual medical! I'm around 155 lbs and fairly proportional.
I can measure the back of my B-6 tonight and...
Sometimes, less is more.
I see some A2s here that way - some A2s I feel would look better for a few USAAF patches and some nice art and need something extra somehow and look better for it if it's done - but yet, some guys post their A2s and I think they're just perfect the way they are: plain.
