I have found WPG sizing to run a bit small. My last suit was a 44l and fits well. I need a 46 long from WPG to get the same fit. The 44 reg was tight even for a shirt and too short for me. I am a bit under 6'2" but long in the body.
Hope that helps.
Great idea for a thread....I will have to check out some of those books.
I did not know this was still a thing. I wonder how legit it all is.
I plan to mostly retire early this year. Hmmm.........
British vs Indian pattern. IIRC it has to do with pocket flaps. One has straight flaps and one has scalloped flaps. At least original WW2 era ones....or so I have been told.
Mr Godfrey...thanks for the info. I still haven't pulled the trigger on this yet. I would really like to find one of the "Bombay Bowler" style ones but no one seems to carry one these days.
Great pic of Bagnold and his crew....I have his book and am just amazed and jealous of what those guys...
My wife has told me to go ahead and buy a pith helmet:)...we were watching the Young Indiana Jones chronicles with the kids. As long as I can get it from Amazon. That probably means the one from IMA...
Hmmm this is a concern to me. I had a very old WPG bush jacket that was a bit small for me in the chest and length. However the chest/waist taper was fine for me(46 chest and 35" waist pants). I sold it and plan to buy a new one from WPG this winter but if the cut has changed, that is an...
Ammo would be the issue. .30-40 Krag ammo in bulk would be hard to come by. Also, if the ammo is original it would probably have a fair number of dud rnds.
The 60's-70's might be a better time frame esp with the seaplane/tramp steamer.
When can we read it!?!?!
The wife and I went to see the new Tarzan movie in the theater. Paid $5 each, at that price it was good. I am glad I saw it in the theater but would not have been happy at the usual $9. The plot was ok but it needed a better pace and was a bit far fetched in a few areas. I did not like...
Does anyone know the name of the book that covers the gear Mallory and Irvine wore? The link is broken and I did not see the actual name of the book.
Thanks!
I don't know if I posted this before but WPG has some cool stuff. Folding camp table.

Jerry has a bunch of different usable camping/adventure/safari type stuff. Pretty decent on prices.
Great thread.....Owwoso MI has a nice train museum that holds a Trainfest every few years. Worth the trip, 5 working steam engines including this one.
