Ironically enough, for several years JCrew's waistcoat pattern was vintage-era short. Makes no sense given that their trousers were low rise, but I picked up several during the past couple years that pair nicely with vintage trousers. They redesigned them this year though, keeping the...
Here's the link to pics of the suit: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?65804-Vintage-Suitings-Discussions-of-and-sourcing-modern-equivalents-etc&p=1791962&viewfull=1#post1791962
I intend for the patch pockets to be flapped and buttoned, like the breast pocket. Wouldn't that conceal...
Friends,
talk to me about the possibility of having patch pockets added to a (bespoke) jacket that was constructed with standard flapped pockets? Assuming my tailor could source the fabric he used for the suit, this could theoretically happen right? The jacket in question (featured somewhere in...
Thanks for the better photos. That windowpane is lovely and subtle. There was a conversation, in this thread I believe, awhile back about the "spalla camicia" and whether these thirties suits with some shirring at the shoulder qualify. There were diagrams of the different constructions included...
Lovely HBK. Thanks for sharing. Lots of good RRL on ebay of late - I've been admiring this jacket for awhile:

Love the subtle herringbone pattern and the belted back. RRL seems to...
Welcome to the Lounge Mathematicus. Great suit. Looks like it has those classic Golden Era proportions, and it seems to fit you well. Would love to see a better shot of the fabric.
HB3 that suit is lovely - I presume that is the 30's suit you featured in the Show Us Your Suits thread recently. I think the wrap seems narrow for a 30's suit - looks like, perhaps, the buttons were moved at some point to accommodate a larger frame. I might have a tailor restore the front to...
Thanks for the kind words fellas. When it rains it pours - today the inaugural voyage for a Polo norfolk I snagged on ebay. Threw it on for some junk shop browsing. Slubby mystery fabric - silk? linen? who knows. Only gripe is the peculiar built up shoulders. Otherwise, seems a spot on 1920s...
Today's attire - suit is late 20s/early 30's vintage. Tie is modern Brooks Brothers, and the shirt is a Luxire creation made to take a detached collar.
Fastuni,
Great outfit. Love the way the shape of the collar harmonizes with the shape of the lapel. Spearpoints and peaks play nicely together! And that tie pattern is lovely.
Nik,
That suit fits you perfectly, much better than it did me - not enough trouser to keep beneath the waistcoat AND cover my ankles! I'm glad you are enjoying it. I liked the label as well - nothing instills confidence like knowing you are wearing certified AUTHENTIC fashion!
