J Crew also has a few offerings this season. I must say, I like the trend towards classic styling!
p.s.
A quick google search will lead you to more info about the exposing image, which appears to be the real...
THANKS for the update, COLONEL!
Interestingly, the lining of the Ebay "original" supplier matches the picture on the Duluth Trading Co. website, not your bag (which is too bad, because I like yours better!).
The bag looks like it's aging well! I'm going to order my own today!
As far...
Nice jacket! I do prefer the lighter coloring of the original leather... It makes the design stand out more, but nonetheless, still a great find (and a great deal!).
Jan: Thanks! Yours, in fact, was one of the jackets I had admired!
Coffee: Hmm. Where to start? First, I guess, is I appreciate your opinion. I didn't really consider a vintage jacket, mostly because I have this thing about wearing someone else's clothes. I think this dates back to...
First, let me apologize for not posting pictures of me wearing the jacket, but I boxed it up and shipped it back almost immediately. The following pictures are from the website.
Between a promotional discount and a coupon, I was able to order this jacket for $270 including shipping from...
Will it look good in 10 years?
I'm going to venture a "probably not." One of the benefits of getting a "classic" jacket is that they tend to be timeless. If you decide to go with a fashion jacket, you are subject to changing styles and industry whims. With that said, though, if you like...
I looked at the website, and it just says "shearling," not lambskin... So that may not be an issue.
It strikes me that if the guys on here think it's over-priced, that's really saying something!
It does look a little flashy, but we're not talking about Middle America here, we're talking...
I love vintage things, especially those with a family tie, but...
I cringe at the thought of that "simpler time." Kids got polio and were crippled. They got measles, mumps, rubella... They died. Women died in childbirth. The newborn infants died from infection and various other illnesses...
I second the vote for Blundstones. I love mine, and after almost a decade, I've had to replace them. They wear well, are comfortable, and durable. Plus, you can dress them up or down.
Blundstones are actually pretty lightweight. They're an Australian brand, and worth the wait if you need to order them through the mail.

The 500's are the original, I think, but I just upgraded to the 550 when my last pair bit the dust.
If you're interested in what's popular in the 20-30 y/o young professional American crowd, www.jcrew.com and http://www.bananarepublic.com are two good places to start.
As far as summer shoes that go with a heavy leather jacket, that seems contradictory to me. But I'll take a shot anyway...
Great wallet! I wish I had known about his last year when I wanted a custom book cover made... Ended up with an OK result, but his stuff looks even better!
