Plus one on either. If you need flexibility the book binding glue is the best. For hard straws I use the wood glue....

PS In addition to the glue you can always back it with a bit of appropriate colored fabric tape plus the glue for a strong repair.
I have such a sweatband on a Straw boater hat and have seen others..on straws and one unlined summer weight felt...My understanding was it was expressly for "summer hats" and I have never seen such a treatment on a lined hat.
Hat is simply fantastic by the way.......

Looks like a pencil curl in the photo because of the velour........it is actually a well executed over-welt.
I am still crying over the size of this beautiful hat......

I did not mean to be at all offensive and LOVE seeing these old ads!!! I also understand how hard it is to actually find old issues of the "American Hatter" like that, as hard as finding all those awesome 20's and 30's (and earlier) hats you keep finding!!!;) And we DO have persons...

Another Miller Stockman I picked up. Love the suits!! Note the OPS descriptor in the Yellow. I have several of these catalogs....love the artwork and photo's........they are so cool.....
