That's really amazing. And July is perfectly fine, as the family member I want to gift it to won't really be able to wear it until autumn anyway!
Do you mind if I email you some questions? I don't think I've got your email.
Can someone who has got samples (or @Hide'n'seek if he has the time) inform about what tone the brown Pinnacle is?
Is it similar to CXL's brown? I have been wanting to get a jacket for a family member in Pinnacle for ages and now we're in the same place so I can take measurements.
I had mentioned earlier that it makes more sense to buy the Aero J-106 over the non-Schott Black Stallion given it's cheaper.
With this month's Aero sale, it's a no brainer.
Identical measurements to the 613S(H), which should help prospective buyers.
The -US model isn’t quite a repro of the 60s models. The American -S/SH actually goes further by reproducing the labels of that time.
It has the miter buckle, but that was a feature from the 50s until the 80s...
They're definitely not super long. Where the Japanese descriptions talk about a 'longer version', that's just getting at standard western length.
But for an illustration of how downsized they are, I hooked a skinny guy with a 34" chest up with one of them in 38 and it was a snug fit.
The new...
It used to have the absurd Schott Japan fit that gave size 44 a 20" P2P. That changed over the past year or so, so older stock of Schott Japan jackets (as well as certain current models) will not fit anything like what they're labeled.
It looks long in the photos for me too, but the Schott website says it's 25" long, which means it'll be general Perfecto length (accounting for size). The longer jackets say 26" in that field.
It’s one inch longer than the 613US (the standard JDM Perfecto, which is 1 inch shorter than the Western ones.)
The UST (‘tall’) and SJH get an additional inch which makes them standard Perfecto length.
They do but the mouton has to be ordered from the repairs department; it’s not available readymade. That said, because the 618 and 118 do have an available standard size readymade faux mouton collar, I imagine you could simply ask to order one without having to send your jacket for measuring and...
Yes I used to feel the same way about unused belt loops, but when you think of them as basically visual accents to balance (and, of course, if you ever wished to you could attach a real belt–rather than a jacket cloth belt–upon which you could actually hang things as policemen or outdoorsmen do)...
I know a lot of people do it but I find the J-106/Buco design loses something in the empty space when there is no belt there. I would recommend just getting the loops, even if not the belt. I like epaulettes but they don’t have quite the same effect.
As for the shoulder gussets, I think they’re...
Sort of. The sizing is basically a match for the 613S(H) except the number is one bigger, so a 44 in the 613SJH measures pretty much exactly like a 42 in the 613SH. As a result, it looks slightly shorter given the same number size.
I think Schott has recently ‘unified’ the pattern for all of...
I have both. In the same size, they’re both exceptionally wearable. The Ridley/slim bike pattern (mine is specced with bi-swing shoulders–noting because I expect they make a difference) is quite excellent, but so is the 613S(H) pattern.
Visually, the Ridley/slim bike is more of a Y shape, while...
