I mentioned fantasy fiction alluding to BK's marketing hyperbole, but perhaps they could change the name to a Scoresby jacket. The character in the book flew a balloon and was known as an aeronaut.
I drive a Toyota and discussed this with my dealer's service manager. The Toyota view is that the recalls are a good thing. Transparent and open for customers. A product improvement. My car was subject to a recall but it was only attaching tags to the suspension that make a visual safety...
I am not sure if this will be of much interest as it is not vintage but 'inspired by'. Posting it up here as I did not wear it at all this winter.
I had this made about 4 years ago before Bookster went bust. It is a heavy Harris Tweed, grey herringbone with a light blue and brown overcheck...
That has worked out really well. I think the back is very good. You seem to have a premier version of the Speedway back crossed with a premier half-belt front. Those seam details are small but make all the difference. You have something unique in an understated way. Congratulations, you need...
I have had issues on a few occasions with jackets. As I had waited so long to receive the jackets I settled, and as a result have sold them on. I once had an offer to replace an arm on a jacket but I thought it would never match in. Like many here, I put so much thought and angst into a...
I have had jackets lined in cotton and tartan. My current jacket is lined with my mother's family tartan. It is a modern and quite bright. Some of the ancient tartans are lovely. I am no tartan expert but I am sure if you dug back a generation or two you might find some Scottish connection...
WDW, I have a pair of unsanforized 15.5 oz Cone Mills on the way. How would you say the fit compares to Gustin? I tried Gustin and although the waist and rise were good, the legs were like 'meggings' on me. I had to swap them for a shirt. I am hoping the Cianos fit more like LVC 501.
That...
I have been looking forward to the pictures, and they were worth the wait. Very nice indeed. I think the fit is good and will improve as the jacket breaks in. Are the cuffs lined with the wool liner or the corduroy from the collar?
Apologies HD, I did not think there would be. I was referring to Dr H's reference to Bernard Manning. There were a group of comedians that appeared on primetime TV here that, when viewed today, is astonishing.
By and large, I find American comedy, especially what you have on mainstream TV...
I think there is an interesting discussion to be had about humour and differences between the two sides of the Ocean, but not in the Outerwear thread.
Enough keystrokes wasted on this already.
Eggcarton, that is super. I placed an order for the same jacket yesterday. Over the course of a number of jackets and coats I have, begrudgingly, conceded that FQHH is not for me. I have received some great advice about Aero's goat and mid-weight hides, but lo, now the Vicenza is available...
Fanch, this morning I have placed an order for a work coat and booked flights to Edinburgh. The coat will not go into production until after I have had a fitting and selected which hide. I have been fortunate with the timing as the new Italian horse seems to be ideal.
My main worry now is...
I have also added the new Italian horse to the list and have flights booked in March.
I will post some pictures of the jacket I am going to trade in to show you where I think I went wrong with the fit.
