Loungers, I am contemplating ordering an Aero 38-1711-P Type A-2 in seal goat (with rust knits) but I'm trying to get a sense of what the hide would look like. Anyone who has some pics handy of any Aero jackets in that hide, please consider posting here: apart from me, it would be useful to have...
I agree about the Blundstones. I wouldn't buy them again; I just used to wear them when I was a kid in Australia. Likewise, I have owned RM Williams but probably wouldn't purchase again, partly just because most of their soles are all-leather and wear down very quickly.

You make me even more inclined to go for them. Are they at all hot to wear? They struck me as more of a spring-summer Red Wing than the Iron Rangers (which I am enjoying wearing).

Flashman, it's a great jacket, and I'm sure you'll enjoy wearing it for years. It is very exciting getting a custom-made leather (all the more so when it turns out to fit as desired) -- hence the slight problem a few of us here have with addiction to the things.

Lovely jacket. One of those is on my wish-list (although it's very much like the Aero 30s HB, no?). You seem to get a great fit on your Goodwears. Do you mind if I ask whether you had your measurements taken by a tailor, or how you did it? I have an A1 from John on order.

The trick is to find a job where you can wear your leathers every day. (I take it you are forced into a suit and tie?) I wear mine (how else to age them properly?) and am either oblivious to strange looks or aren't getting any.

I hear that at Aero they used to tie a jacket up with string and use it as a football if they wanted the broken-in look. The best thing, though, is just to wear the hell out of it. Or go to war in it -- the way they used to do.
