Good luck!
I've come unstuck with vintage jacket sizing before. I'm a 39 and I've bought jackets sized at 40 that I just couldn't do up.
Also, in the photos I noticed that the tag size 40 is just written on to the tag. I asked the seller about this but they didn't answer that question.
Today (as every day since it arrived) I'm wearing my Superdry cross zip. The picture is no good, but does show the fit at least. It's a bit of a Goldilocks - slim enough to look absolutely fine over just a t shirt, but with room to fit over a (horrible!) fleece, and even over a thick hoodie too...
That's the exact jacket I've been watching for ages. I messaged the seller for measurements and it's too small for me, but while I was waiting for their reply I sent that photo to a local repairs/alterations place.
They quoted me £16 + post to repair the sleeve.
I've used them before to...
That looks excellent!
The length is exactly where it should be, if you're confident enough in your style. I do like mine just a tiny bit longer in the body - but certainly no more than an inch.
Try it with some higher waisted jeans as suggested, but honestly if you already feel it's too short...
No of course not! Jackets are for outside. If you want to break it in quicker go out in the rain.
I wear a hoody or a t shirt indoors, like a sane person.
Everyone's said it already, but your I&R jacket fits about as well as this can on you. Sizing up would be a mistake as there's already plenty of space at the waistband. Everything about it looks really good, but if you're uncomfortable then you'll need to look at a different cut from a different...
I've just remembered this!
I saw a YouTuber wearing it in one of his videos so I messaged and asked what it was. I think it's utterly superb, but sadly too much for my meagre budget.

Well, my crosszip finally arrived. And I genuinely could not be more delighted. No fit pics for now because I'm in a huge rush but here's some straight out of the packaging.
It's "only" a fashion jacket but it's superb. Heavy cowhide, chunky blacked-out hardware with a two way zip, quilted...
I love the big rear pocket on this;

In shorter styles I've had an Oxford Howell which was absolutely excellent quality with everything about it superbly put together.

And also a Held 66. Nice enough but unremarkable and the quality was noticeably not up to...
I wear my Barbour International over the top of am admitted shirt, but I've also had a Speedwear in the past.

Very solid and decently made, but I...
