The one in the lower picture, being slightly oversized, is often called a "Big Apple." To me they have sporting connotations when worn with 1920s or '30s garb. Unfortunately, they became sort of a charicature in the '50s.
In "The Wild One" Brando wears a police-style service cap.

You fellows have inspired me to try to clean and repair my salt-and-pepper rucksack. I ran it over with the car years ago and haven't had the heart to do anything with it.
On another topic - what do you fellows use to carry water with you? I've been thinking about digging out a British P37...
Thanks, Mr. Marcus, for the encouragement.
Hmm, you've either met my wife or you've heard me talk about her and her conservative fashion sense. :D
Now, I just have to find an inexpensive brown Homburg. No more wool felts for me, either! But, I'm willing to bet that Homburgs don't go for...
That's great! My wife and I sat down and informally did the test when we found the rest of it on Flickr, but that would have made it much easier.

A Google search of the board appears to indicate we've never discussed these here before:
The Isaacs Fury is a nice idea in my mind. It's perfect for anyone who's ever wanted to be a private pilot, but knows they're not up to the task of piloting a real vintage aircraft and yet can't...
Oh good, since nobody seems to mind, I'll bring this one back from the dead again.
Lately I've really taken a liking to homburgs; especially brown ones. A brown homburg seems almost a contradiction - it's brown, which is (to the modern mind) a casual/daytime color, but in a style which...
I can't tell you how thrilled I am to hear that. I put in a bid on it immediately. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that nobody bids against me.
Thankfully, this model doesn't have the "sexy" keys that crafters seek like the Underwood No. 5 mentioned above. Kudos to the gentleman for saving...
I just discovered one of these listed on eBay locally:
If the seller says a pickup is okay, I'm going to bid. I can't imagine trying to ship such a thing. Mytypewriter.com says they're common but good machines - that's exactly what I want.

Thanks, Bob. It looks like they're not entirely different from what I'm wearing right now. I'm afraid I'm very much stuck with wearing rectangular frames, round frames just make me look - well... round!
CampusFive, I appreciate the suggestion, but I'm actually looking to save a bundle...
That's the exact pair of frames I was planning to get (along with a set of aviator sunglasses). Any pictures of them on? They're a dead ringer for my current frames, but with a slightly taller lens.

Military history was a passion of my youth, so I haven't really thought about it in a while and all of my resources at my parents. As I recall it the advisors were simply individuals who had been in the Imperial German Army and had left after the war to continue pursuing military careers, so...
Not an issue for me, thankfully. It is for my wife, unfortunately.
My local optometrist can't even be bothered to properly size frames to your face. I'm tired of it.
Still wondering if Dinerman got the Zenni frames.

I've spoken to a few tinnitus sufferers who claim that drastically reducing the sodium in one's diet can really help - almost to the point of eliminating it. I'm not a sufferer, so I can't vouch for the method's effectiveness, but I will say that on days I've consumed a great deal of processed...
I have been needing glasses for a while and just found the Zenni site courtesy of my wife. Naturally, I came to the lounge to see if anyone had experience with them - how did this venture come out? Was the quality there?
