Douglas,
Still those are some very nice vests I see there. They compliment the hats you wear quite well. Me, I'm having a heck of a time finding good looking waistcoats.
Cheers!

Nope. Sorry Dean, those weren't it. The images were taken from a 3/4 side view with no hats on them to display the hat hanger itself. The thread is about a year to two years old. Thanks though!:)
Cheers!

Thank you! Mine is incredibly thin compaired to most of the other hats I have yet it has a very snappy stiffness to it. The ribbon is what attracted me to it in the first place.
Underrated but highly sought after these days.;)

Here's my first vintage hat purchase. It's still one of my favorite lids. It was had for only around $10.00 on OFAS about two years ago.:)
Show us your Adam's!!

Hey gang! I've been doing a search now for a couple of days now on the FLounge for a thread on hat hangers. One of the fine gentlemen here had posted images of a row of wood hat hangers that he had made. These were home built and not a commercial item. I think the wood was cedar but I can't be...
Well, I did a good cleaning with a small steamer and Scouts dark hat cleaner and it worked like a charm. No musty/smokey odor and the finish is as soft as a bunnies bum. The steam seemed to activate any stiffener in the crown and helped reshape and set the crown into the correct bash. The steam...
Ah, so you got that one. Cool! I considered that one but again I have to limit myself each month.;)
Congratulations! I hope you will be able to pair it with one of the great waitcoats you have.;) :eusa_clap
Cheers!

Douglas,
I thoroughly enjoy it. It has a couple of moth nibbles and will need a bit of a cleaning to get the musty odor out, but all in all a very nice hat. The ribbon on it looks practically new as does the wind trolley. I can fully understand why you enjoy these hats.
Cheers!

That, and I think I need to expand my vest & tie collection.
Douglas, you have a great variety of vests my friend. You should start a thread displaying some of those nice waitcoats.;)
Cheers!

It could also one of the styles that Stetson called "The Three-Way". It looks exactly like that style, and on the inside of the lid of the semi-triangular hat box was the writer/actor Robert Benchley displaying the three different ways the hat could be styled & worn.
Anyway, this is the hat...
Well, I've gotten to wear this a few days now and it just plops on like second nature.:) Whoever had this before took great care of it. Quite comfortable indeed.
Thanks again for your kind comments.
Cheers!

Ask, and ye shall receive...
Well, it showed up today!:) That was faster than I thought too. The color is a grey/mauve with a blue-grey ribbon & wind trolley. The felt is in pretty good shape except for some moth nibbles (those cursed moths:rage: ). I think a little steam & a light brushing...
Now I have Dunlap envy.;)
That is one nice lid, the color is fantastic! I'm really liking that wide brim & tall crown.:eusa_clap :eusa_clap
Cheers!
