It doesn't really add, from the historical point of view, to what's already in the thread, but I really like the pic.
Wool lined leather label Hercules, belonging to Ethan Newton (@ethandesu on IG):
Agree with Marc mndt on this one. In the example below (from ericm.vintage on IG), the plaids are mismatched along the center back line, strongly suggesting a seam:
Nice, never seen something like this, and I'd like to see more.
I think the quality of high fashion products in general is often underestimated; just because a, say, Saint-Laurent, Hérmes, Tom Ford or Ralph Lauren Purple Label jacket is overpriced, it does not necessarily mean it's poorly made...
Disclaimer: I like my jackets to end at the waistline and I hang my pants high; my ideal sleeve length is at the wrist.
To me, it fits a little bit tight in the chest area, it might look better with just a t-shirt/lightweight shirt on, elsewhere is fine. I wouldn't have sized up, the jacket...
Ok, this time a real MC jacket.
Styled and made in California 40s piece, from ebay:
Very similar to the jacket tmitchell59 posted earlier in this thread, but the back is different, and the ebay one is labeled:
It looks like this model went through a similar evolution in back design as...
From the pics, the only tag on the jacket is the 'Taubers of California' shown; the seller does not mention the leather type in the description.

Let's bump this thread with the coolest denim jacket I have ever seen, a mid 80s made in USA Levi's sherpa trucker:
It sold long ago; it was my size and I kinda wish I had bought it, even though the 275$ price tag would have been hard to stomach.
Californian Sportwear tan suede shirt jacket, probably 70s. I really like the pocket design, the buttons and the split hem. Tagged size 42, measurements all over the place. 86.95$

Two beautiful wool jackets.

A 50s Hercules, sourced by the NY-based vintage shop Wooden Sleepers for the menswear store No Man Walks Alone:
Hopefully the aviator will go to a good home.
Can't help with the leather on the cossack, unfortunately; not enough first-hand experience with these old jackets.
