A couple more leather jacket pics form the same catalog:
Not much leather, only a two-tone wool/capeskin, similar to the aviator Sears ones of the same period; but peep the wool versions of the half-belt Admiral Byrd and aviator Windward.
Non-Windward leather section: some more two-tones and...
Clearly the one in your post is a 1949-50 man's jacket, but a black rayon lined horsehide jacket with that back is shown in the 1950 catalog, women section:
No idea on the maker.
Glenn O'Brian Schott, hand-painted by Jean-Michel Basquiat (source: https://www.gq.com/story/glenn-obrien-style-greatest-hits; https://putthison.com/the-allure-of-a-painted-motorcycle-jacket-jesse/):

George Wang, owner of the Brio Beijing shop (from here:https://putthison.com/leather-jackets-for-guys-who-arent-sure-about-leather-jackets/). 70s Schott?

40s steerhide aviator, probably a Ralphs Pugh (looks a lot like it, but it's actually not written on the label) size 40, 487$ starting bid:

Earliest JC Penney leather jacket (coat) I've seen, 20s (probably) horsehide, currently on ebay...
