An interesting find on MW leather jackets in general:
A combined Brent and Windward label. Credit goes to @Claybertrand, who first noticed this, in the Find and Deals thread:
Some more pics of the jacket, recently sold on ebay for a very good price to a TFL member
I recently found out (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JCPenney#First_Half_of_Twentieth_Century) that JC Penney issued its first catalog in 1963, so the following one is the first (and only) MC-related, thread-relevant catalog page we have available:
There were JCP ads on Life magazine starting...
Fall/Winter 1941-42, part of the Windward section; Admiral Byrd is mentioned as well:
Interestingly, not all leather jackets are in the Windward section; some cossack-style ones, referred to as 'Windward quality' in their description, appear a page before the Windwards, together with cheaper...
I Agree. I have heard/read from quite a few people (Dinerman included) that ebay is particularly punishing towards sellers and some buyers can be really thick and act all entitled when the blame is actually on them (not properly checking the posted measurements/reading the description/looking at...
I think that guy's main fear is the association of the black leather jacket with Marlon Brando in The Wild One and bikers in general or with music stars like the Ramones. He does not want people to look at him and think of those characters. That's not a biker jacket, but, as far as I know...

Earlier in this thread, tmitchell59 came to the the...
Since there was a bit of discussing about these specific variation of Sears MC jacket, I think it would be interesting to add Dinerman's words on the matter (reported after the pics).
Appalachian made 50s D-pocket (source...
Exactly. Regarding that blog, it's simply directed at a different type of audience. It makes for an interesting read, if you are into that kind of stuff.
Super nice, thanks for sharing the pics! As you said, everything contributes to the evocative atmosphere, and the shopping experience is...
As far as I have understood, they sell online and ship internationally. The order is placed either by phone call or e-mail.
I have never been to the RRL store, nor I have purchased vintage from them, but I have heard (and I agree now after looking at the online offer, which I am pretty sure is...
A nice Oshkosh B'gosh jacket from their short-lived Bronks line, currently on Poshmark:
The story behind it is very interesting. From a @vintagehaberdashers FB post:
"Oshkosh B'Gosh introduced the "Bronks" line in 1949 and produced western styled jeans and jackets for men, women and...
Pictured is the wool liner of a MC jacket tmitchell59 sold here; you can see the lateral seams:
I wouldn't use the presence of seams as a mark of inauthenticity. But the guys at RL could have done a very good job relining it.
It not unusual for the sleeve lining to be made of a different...
