Thanks Matt. You have pulled off a couple of stellar examples of the hat trade today.
I like that paisley pug Red. I have a couple of hats that could use new pugs, and I have some similar looking paisley fabric. May have to try my hand at one.
Thanks,
Michael
Thanks Dale. I really like this one. Good to hear the purple was making it through, it was looking much more blue on my monitor today than it does to my eyes. And the color wheel is my friend, or enemy, depending on your point of view. Ha ha.
Thanks,
Michael
Thanks Red. I think straw weather is supposed to really hit about Monday. But I couldn't resist it today. The tie is something called Jakarta Crepe. It's a pretty cool old one.
Thanks,
Michael
Thanks Perry. Feels kind of springy here today. You are looking good in the Ambassador. And that plaid and floral tie is too cool. Don't think I've ever seen that combo.
Thanks,
Michael

1950s? 40s?
Have a great day,

I may have to switch back to felt for my shopping trip, but I really felt like wearing this Penney's Solar Straw Hopoka today.

I think there still are quite a few places you can send your hide and have it tanned. I haven't found any yet that turn them into garments. I think some may do gloves.
Thanks,
Michael
It is a nice combo. Your St Regis today was looking great. And some great clothes to go with it.
Thanks. The camera is just a cheap point and shoot Nikon Coolpix L340. It does have a long lens on it though, and seems to have quite a good image stabilizer.
Thanks,
Michael
No mushrooms today, but a nice time in the woods under this Filson

Mine was made by Mid Western Sport Togs. It was one of the companies that you sent your salted deer hides to and they tanned them and made them into whatever jacket or other item that you picked out of their catalog of patterns. It was in Berlin Wisconsin, and I believe there was another...
Something maybe '50s today.

I would probably wear this one as a separate more often than as a suit even if I had the pants. But I'm not as critical as some about orphan suit coats in any case. I stay away from pinstripe worsted, but other fabrics and patterns I like quite well. And when it comes down to it, I have a...
Long time, no jacket action around the old shack here. Dug out some old deerskin this morning.

Thanks Perry. You were looking sharp in the black Stetson today.
Thanks Chasblount. It is a pretty cool jacket. Sadly I missed the opportunity to get the pants that completed the outfit. It has a pretty cool back too.

Cool. That one certainly has a similar vibe and palette. Is it a Techni-Color?
This was certainly a strong subset of '40s ties.
