By far the strangest part of it to me was when his go-to comeback to everything was that we were fashion chasers who wanted to wear "insert designer none of us had heard of" who makes everything tight fit. Meanwhile the actual fashion trend for a few years now has been 90s revival like he's...
Okay, I went back and checked.
The criminal is a guy who bought Legendary in November 2022; he's being pursued by the authorities for multi-million dollar fraud in New Jersey.
It was discovered at the tail end of the last thread. Legendary’s switch from high quality, good service website to trolling machine coincides with their buyout by a convicted crook.
I must confess, @Damon141 that I was a little disappointed when I saw your "Damon" in the background of a WIP of Field making a cafe racer (because I was like "Another one?!" but this is fantastic). Maybe a half-belt next time though? Haha.
I own (multiple of) all of the above, but I think the Perfecto and other motorcycle cross-zips enjoy an outsized reputation today. If you look at old photos, they were never the go-to leather jacket.
A bit analogous to how hobbyists now refer to the Rolex Submariner as the most iconic watch but...
I think this says (to me anyway) that you shouldn't be wearing either. (And there's nothing wrong with that.) If you feel like a particular kind of jacket would require you to play a role, even just to yourself, I don't think you'll ever feel at home in it.
And anyway, I think motorcycle...
I think that might be an exclusively Australian (and maybe Japanese yanki gang) thing.
In the US and Europe, where Monitor is from, I'd associate it with somewhat nerdy people or girls in a particular makeup and dress subculture.
The company got taken over by a criminal, who went on to steal a Schott pattern, and built a marketing campaign on attacking Schott so I believe their relationship is now severed.
I have never understood what the point of this pattern style is. Small guys with beer guts?
If the shoulders are uncomfortable, the jacket will never be comfortable. I have never found an exception to this rule.
Yeah I've mentioned before that some of the Japanese repros that have gang colors (even fictional) painted or embroidered on them are not a good idea for customers outside of Japan.
You might get some additional give but I've never found that to fully make the difference in a jacket that felt constrained up top. (I know there are others who've literally soaked a jacket and worn it to stretch up a size like some people do for jeans, but that hasn't been the case for me.)...
This–your own feeling of constriction tells you more than our observations would.
But I wonder how much this is the pattern, rather than the size itself. (You feel it's tight up top, but it simultaneously looks too big going down– A shaped basically.) Maybe a different, but similar, model would...
Let's not forget that thugs now are also Zoomers and young Millennials, so rather than being dressed like 50s-60s greasers or the 70s @ton312 Superfly look, they're in sweats and sneakers.
No one cares. Really. At most people will think it's a cool shiny zipper.
But if you're that self-conscious about people jumping you for your outfit, I'd be concerned that comes through in your body language (no matter what you're wearing).
I find it comparable in thickness/stiffness to CXL FQHH but the temper is quite different. It seems to me closest to LW’s horsehide, as far as offerings from other makers go.
You’re not wrong about that, and like I said he can actually back it up with his stuff. That was my point, really, that if you have bluster you need to be able to deliver.
That said I have heard of cases of him blacklisting customers over posting their bad experiences and things like that...
