Your basic garden variety hat steamer like the Jiffy J01 or J-4000 have a spout that has an opening of about 1". so a clothing steamer or tea kettle will do the trick more effectively than an open bowl or pot.
Now for the "light" Scout hat cleaner, I think we can agree to just stay away from...
We usually have the Cruse Night on a Friday then the Show on Saturday & Sunday, Which by the way is happening this weekend. Huzzah!:)
What I love about this is the mix of cars & people. You actually have people dress up to match the period of their car. So you get the 50's greasers in their...
Well not that I'm feeling cold, but I do have a fondness for a tweed waistcoat, & would love to be able to find a source like the Japanese site that has such variety. There have been some good suggestions posted by Nick Charles especially the Bob Parratt site. Rather reasonable prices.
Now if...
Harris Tweed Vests/Waistcoats... Help!!!
Well folks I've been having a heck of a time trying to find a variety of Harris Tweed vests. I had found the Harris Tweed Shop and they make a respectable vest but in only two models & limited tweeds. Then I had found a Japanese site (Rakuten), but much...
I hope these were a good buy. I figure they're a "good enough for now" spectator until I can afford some custom ones. They are Brentano, but I don't know a lot about that company. Maybe one of our resident shoe sxperts could enlighten me.:)...
Sadly our former A&W drive-in was torn down about a month ago.:( It was the last one of it's kind in our County, and they still used roller skates to deliver to your car too. The building was way too old & unsafe for use after our 2003 earthquake, so they finally tore it down. Lord knows what...
Ah, so you got the 46, I got the 48 they had as well (but I wouldn't say I was round, 46 & 48 are the only sizes that fit around the chest & shoulders);) :p . I was the only bidder on mine, how about you? I take it that their tweed jackets are quite nice, but I really liked the price.:)
What I...
I'd leave it as a homburg myself and maybe do something with the bash in the crown. I've seen one or two with a center dent and a front pinch. They didn't look too shabby that way either. Just a thought.
Cheers!

It sort of looks like a hat the flamenco dancers would wear in Spain also known as the Cordoban hat.
Just a guess though. Anybody else have any ideas?
Cheers!

Thank you for the kind comments here.:) I've seen some stunning Whippets far better than mine. That green job that Feraud has is A1! All in all some very nice looking Whippets racing here today. Although, I haven't seen Douglas win, place or show yet.;)
Cheers!

Douglas: So that's the blue Mallory you got last week! Wow, that sure looks nice. Great catch! I only wish I could have gotten that blue Knox that was out there at the same time. Congratulations!:eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Once I find a good one to make the conversion to a campaign hat of that era I may just see if you can do a ribbon treatment for me Dean. I still have a black annodized EGA devise that I can pin to the crown as well. This will be rather fun to do.
Now if only I can find good barrel & stock...
It's just one of the fun little things that may make you smile, and leave you having a better day. Glad y'all got to enjoy it. Have a great weekend!
Cheers!

Douglas: That Cross Country is fabulous! I like the touch of the air vents in the crown. I can picture that one being worn in Chicago on a warm day with a silk suit.:eusa_clap
Cheers!
