NOVA: Rise Of The Robots. The good news, we don't have to worry about them taking over the world any time soon. You can literally trip them up with ease!
I was driving home this afternoon, not going particularly slow, 5 to 10mph over the speed limit, yet, it felt like the world was traveling at warp speed around me! Any one else notice that?
Back on topic, even though there have been several boats that have crossed the Atlantic faster then the SS United States, she is still the official holder of the Blue Ribbon Trophy. The other boats, did not have a full complement of passengers, and they did not do a East and West crossing!
That's has to be Paul Mantz doing his usual superb job of making it look like an amateur was at the controls. As many of you know, Paul was slated to fly on the original round the world flight. He later backed out of the second and fatal try. Many say, his departure doomed Amelia!
It's from the July 13, 1953 issue of Life Magazine. 400 New Angels Every Day, was the title of the article about Los Angeles growth during that time. I believe the photo was taken in Pamona. http://www.grayflannelsuit.net/blog/time-capsule-los-angeles-development-boom-of-the-1950s
The Time Machine (2002) I was such a fan of the original, I dismissed this film out of hand. Turned out to be pretty good. Definitely liked the machine better then the original. More three dimensional cast!
NOVA: Iceman Reborn. Amazing what they can do with 3D printing. Also, amazing how Otzi keeps reveling more and more secrets. Not bad for a young man of over 5,000 years old!
I forgot to take pictures, but finally got the upstairs hallway plastered. I told the guy, he got the job, because he was the only one of a half dozen I called, to call back and come out to do a quote!
