*sigh of relief*
I put her on a list of "Vintage celebrities I don't care for" in the beginning of this thread!
I seriously thought I was the only person who couldn't stand her (or, at least, the only one with the guts to admit it ;) )
Brooksie = I'm still stuck in the 80s! I wouldn't mind going back, bad fashion and all! I don't know if it was just me, but when I was growing up in the 80s there was still a lot of the "Golden Era" clinging on for dear life. And I was always eerily attracted to those types of things...
Vintage celebrities I don't care for:
Frank Sinatra
Erroll Flynn
Katharine Hepburn
Bing Crosby
Vivien Leigh
I have 6 tattoos. I'll be getting a few more. All in semi-concealed places so I can show them when I want!
My favourite era for music is late 70s/early 80s punk and new wave...
Same here! I didn't go thrifting today, but "back in the day" (1998-2002ish) I could walk into my local Salvation Army and walk out with 4 or 5 fancy dresses from the 40s, 50s, and/or 60s. Now it's all 80s prom stuff.
Every once in a while my husband and I hit the shops and I usually come...
gluegungeisha = I still think you have the face of a delicate 1930s starlet. So pretty.
ALL LADIES HERE = All beautiful! Everyone looks fabulous, even when not in vintage gear!
I don't go to the cinema either, but when I'm skimming the TCM schedule I look for year, storyline, then who stars in it -- in that order!
Year = I don't have a lot of time in my life so I narrow it down to pre 1941.
Storyline = I prefer silly "B" comedies, pre-Coders, and chick flicks...
Thanks, some good suggestions here. I already checked out Martha Tilton and downloaded every single one of those mp3s on her website! And Liz Tilton too!
Again, I don't have any cute shoes or clothes to contribute, but I did recently "win" all of these magazines off ebay!!
9 Movie Mags from 1960-1962! Not really my era for movies, but I love the clothes, hairdos, and advertisements! I LOVE the beautiful colours they used for advertising...
Without a doubt - THE TWO JEANS! Arthur and Harlow. Other female voices I adore: Joan Blondell, Aline MacMahon, Kay Fwancis, and Lilyan Tashman.
Also, any bubble-headed telephone operator with a babydoll voice. They usually go uncredited :(
Allen Jenkins had the best male voice to...
This is so weird! Strange late-night calls have always freaked me out.
I can't be of any help other than saying that when my in-laws call from England the whole number is displayed with the country code and all. No matter what phone they call from. This happened when I was on Verizon and...
