I haven't seen it in a while, but I think Harold Lloyd's World Of Comedy has voiceovers over his silent movies (could be wrong, though, it's been a while!) It used to pop up on TCM in the US every now and again. I recorded it from there, but I don't know if it's available commercially.
I can't relate to some of my fellow redheads stories on here. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I've NEVER come across any teasing, pervertedness, or hatred because of my red hair -- in either the UK or USA (my husband is from London.)
I've gotten nothing but praise for it in the USA. In the...
I'm rockabilly sometimes. I go through phases where I'll listen to nothing but rockabilly and my dress will lean more towards the 50s. I'm not majourly into the scene, but I have friends who are and I can hang with them and go to shows. Nothing sounds better than a live upright bass thumping...
I tend to fall in love with women stars more than men (my "girl-crush" feeling is pretty strong!), but for the sake of this thread, I'll narrow it down to the men I'd most like to go on a date with if I weren't married and were alive 75 years ago...

Acid trip cartoon mixed with a live-action fictional band who perform the sweetest, sickest, most insipidly wonderful and over-produced fake pop music I've ever heard! :)
I love it even more as an adult.
I totally agree with this! I LOVE music and I always have. All kinds from the dawn of cylinders to today. I couldn't bear just listening to one type of music and turning my nose up at the rest (not saying anyone does this, just sayin'!) I need musical variety in my life! Now granted, I *do*...
Movies, movies, movies!!
I've said it before and I'll say it again :) Study the movies of the time period you are trying to copy the style of. If you have TCM, this should be very easy. Check the schedules and record movies that sound interesting if you won't be able to watch them when...
Right now I'm watching The House On 56th Street (1933) with Kay Francis for a second time. Yesterday I watched Trog (1970).
What was the last movie you watched?
No radio for me, either. Right now, if my husband and I are in the car together we'll listen to 104.5 out of Philadelphia. It recently changed it's format to 90s alternative -- which we both like.
BUT!! Philly is notorious for having a good radio station, having it last for about a year...
I was born in '75 so I'm an 80s child all the way!
I loved growing up in the 80s. I spent a great deal of time watching MTV and now I'm a total 80s video/music buff. When people want to know who sang what, they come to me.
I also liked to stay up late to watch the late, late movie...
Last night I attempted to make Garlic & Ginger Crusted Salmon.
Didn't turn out too bad, though I didn't realise cooked salmon was so "fishy." Salmon sushi is one of the least "fishy" so this was a surprise to me.
"Amy" was most popular in the 70s (when I was born), and least popular in the 30s (my fave decade).
I seem to remember doing this one time before? Was it here or another MB?
