I belive so.....all I have seen pictures of have it. This hat has absolutly no signs of anything else........They were trying to make it stand out....it certainly does.....each hat needs it's thing.....otherwise they all look alike.....I actually like it on this hat! -

Reminds me of TWO (2) Open Roads I ran accross a few weeks ago ( and one WAS a 7 5/8)..... they were both from the same period (I think from the late 70's) which was a very bad time for Stetson......as I opined in an earlier post after the encounters.....I suppose there were LOTS of hairless... -
