    Vintage Entertaining

Has anyone here hosted a small gathering or large party for non-vintage loving (but not hating, just something they don't go out of their way to enjoy) people where everything on your end is vintage? What kind of reactions do you get? I've had very positive reactions overall. I also always give...

    Pottery and China

Do you have any vintage decorative glass? I picked these up at a yard sale last week: RS Prussia Celery Tray (did people actually use this work of art?!): Pretty unmarked hand painted bowl:

    "Hollywood killed us all."

That was my favorite quote from Catcher in the Rye and appeared in my high school yearbook. Do you think it's true? I know I've been a closet drama queen, envisioning Hollywood-like sets and glamorous exits, etc for hum drum daily living, but it's been a fun and non-destructive thing. Reality TV...

I love Victorian quack medicine contraptions but can't afford to collect them.

    Bingo Halls

There's lots of food to eat at the fair. :) I like the grumpy looking man all the way to the right.

    Bingo Halls

I actually took this picture last year at the fair. :) I didn't play, though. I'd love to find a place that still uses those hand cranked Bingo cages.

    Bingo Halls

Thanks! I like to have fun and win prizes. I think I want to be an older Bingo lady with charms that hits on young men. But 15 years old, yikes!

    OTB and Horse Racing

My knowledge of OTB: The commercial that played in NYC in the 1970's: "Get a horse at OTB and let him run for youuuuuuuuuuuuu." Watching men in suits hanging around the OTBs in NYC, drunk and desperate. (Also long ago.) Das all I know. :)

    Bingo Halls

Does anyone here ever play Bingo at a local hall? If so, what's the scene like? What kind of prizes do they offer? How's the food?

Will jeans be going out of fashion?

I want to clarify something: I assume we are talking about jeans for non-professional attire.

Will jeans be going out of fashion?

I'm neither slobbish for wearing jeans nor do I consider wearing them as rebellious; to do so I'd have to consider what the masses expect of me, which I do not. I've always thought of communications and consideration as equally or more so a reflection of slobbishness (or stylishness) than attire.

Will jeans be going out of fashion?

I've been wearing jeans since I was a tyke. I look good in them, they are comfortable and I do not look like a slouch probably because I am not one, even in jeans. They may go out of style, but I'll keep wearing them.

    Sterling with dinner?

Sure it is! Anything or one to dress up dinner!

    Sterling with dinner?

That sounds nice! (Not the unequal split). Any pics? :) I don't have sterling, but am tired of plain old stainless steel.

    Sterling with dinner?

Judging from ads and memories of eating at my grandmother's house, it seemed that it was more common to use sterling silver flatware with meals. I like that. Anyone here use silver on a daily basis? It seems like a nice way to dress up a meal.

    Vintage Vanity Set

It's OK. :) I was about to add it to my Goodwill pile. :) I do know that it was being sold with the other belongings of an elderly lady who had passed away.
