Not really into vintage clothing. Not even hats to be honest! Guesse I am only here for the Irvin flying jackets, WWII aeroplanes, battle of Britain stuff and what have you.
But having said that, I'll also admit that I love reading about it - and suddenly I find myself with a pair of oldstyle...
Not all. Allthough I have the utmost respect for the greatest generation, I remember I found national service both stupid, booooring and a waste of time. My time.
First time I ever post here, 'cause I am not a hatperson.
Only have a straw Borsalino for summer use - but the other day I bought this:
Who knows - maybe I'll even wear it every day.
My brand new basque - besides my straw Borsalino - it's the only real hat I have.
But I think I am going to wear this a lot - allthough it's not a Fedora.
Tough....there are so many....but if I must only choose three?
Ben Webster meets Gerry Mulligan
Saxophone Collossus/Tenor Madness - Sony Rollins
Body and Soul - Colemann Hawkins
Not in that order - just shuffle them around.
A different tribute to Zulu!
Daniel Gerald Smith - son of Lewis' eldest daughter, Dawn Yvonne Lewis - had this tattoo made in honour of his grandfather.
No matter what one might think and not think on tattoos, I will say it's a stunning piece of artwork.
I am the one in rarely!!!
Maybe I voted wrong, but I only wear a straw borsalino in the summer when in Italy - or if the sun is to hard back home in Denmark. To me that's "rarely". :)
made me think of the day I overheard a bunch of teenagers looking at a IBM typewriter being demonstrated at a technical museum.
One of them said loudly: "WOW - look at that! It prints while you type!!!!!!"
Amazing! :)
