    1930s Cavalry- Mechanized and Horse

Wow, great topic. My great-grandfather was in the cavalry pre-WWI. In Pursuit of Honor, inaccurate though it may be, is one of my favorite films. -Dave

Attorneys and Barristers of the Lounge

A few more court houses: Bay City Federal District Court: Built in the early Depression years as a make-work project. This is also the Post Office. Bay City Bankruptcy Court: My home bankruptcy court. The building doesn’t look like much (like a lot of government buildings these...

    Meet the “Buckubra Aero”

Mine is still dimensional. I didn't think there was 2 5/8 on the sides - just 2 1/2. -Dave

    Meet the “Buckubra Aero”

Mike has taken a very nice hat, and turned it into, in my mind, the quintessential men’s hat of the 20th Century. Thanks again, Mike. -Dave

    Meet the “Buckubra Aero”

The Short Story: I commissioned a semi-custom from Buckaroo Hatters. It’s a brown Fed IV Deluxe with a 9-ligne-bound snap brim, an 18-ligne, brown ribbon, and a “TVA” diamond bash. The Long Story: “Way” back when I first joined the lounge, I found a thread about the quintessential...

Attorneys and Barristers of the Lounge

Michigan Courthouses, Pt. 1 Glad to see the attorneys of the lounge have re-convened! Per an earlier request, here are a few court houses in which I’ve conducted business, for your viewing pleasure: This is my “home” courthouse. The Bay County courthouse, a former grocery store...

    I'm stuck in the 80s...automotively

Love those. I guess the Volvo 4-banger is really something, but if I had one, I'd be hard pressed not to perform a jagsthatrun.com V8 conversion. -Dave

    I'm stuck in the 80s...automotively

See, the other part of my interest in '80s cars is that technologically, they're similar to cars twenty years older, and lend themselves to similar performance mods. I will say, though, that I'm not nearly so ambitious as Diamondback. -Dave

    To actually EXPERIENCE the era....

Up to this point, I had no idea what kind of car you were talking about. I was picturing a Taurus or something. Then I read: And I realized you were talking about a Model T. That routine sounds very “period.” If you wanted to make it more era correct, cut your gasoline a bit with...

    I'm stuck in the 80s...automotively

Speaking of Mercedes, I snapped this a couple weeks ago while visiting the midwife. It's a 300D. I don't know much about them except they look good and are popular as "greasels". -Dave

    I'm stuck in the 80s...automotively

I actually just put skinny whites on my Falcon. They were called Enduro 75s, I think. They were cheap, but I have no complaints. -Dave

    I'm stuck in the 80s...automotively

I've always had a soft spot for boxy GM B-bodies, and FoMoCo Panther platform cars - particularly the Pontiac Parisienne sedan and the Mercury Colony Park (faux woodie) wagon. Until recently, I believed they were the last real American cars anyone would ever build. -Dave

    Bow Ties

Is there a series of slits along the part with the T? Those are for sizing: The T fits inside them for sizing. The hook is so that once you have it tied, you can use it without tying and untying. It should attach to the long part somewhere, I think I see a loop on there for that purpose...
