Thanks for the kind words everyone. I did just put in a simple center dent for now.
Josh, here is a close-up of the rear dent....spidering is not really evident to me:
Here's also a close-up of the brim with the imperfection I was talking about in the center of the picture, it's really...
By the by, for a relative comparison, this hat is nicer than an Imperial grade Akubra, and feels closer to vintage as well. Obviously I can't comment on durability, but everything about this hat feels nice. That uneven spot in the brim even got less noticable after a few passes with a brush...
Well it's here!
Overall, I have to say, this is a nice hat. It's miles ahead of Stetson's other offerings. The sweatband is nice and supple, the liner is nice with no plastic cover. The felt has a nice soft hand, not too much stiffener. As others have said, holds a dry crease well. The...
It's all relative. What is "worse" is opinion and conjecture. The fedora is not an objectively perfect piece of headwear. Moreover, it'd be really boring if everyone liked the same things for the same reason.

(1946)
(1948)
The 1946 model most closely resembles what's being released to my eye...of course this is not necessarily an exhaustive documentation of...

I've actually been wearing this hat for the past 3 days...the first 2 to have a beaver hat for the rain, and today because I forgot how much I liked this hat.
The Borsalino Torino was a popular model for export which, although slightly smaller in proportion than the Stetson/Resistol (depending on who you ask) that Bogie wore, makes a nice substitute.
A grey hat with a wide band and a good size brim, say 2 3/8"-2 1/2', would fit the bill with a...
I don't think prices are the main factor. Optimo sells enough hats at $650 to have two brick and mortar stores. I have several peers that will drop comparable amounts of money (let's say $150-$300) on various wardrobe items including but not limited to shoes, bags, jackets. Heck, a pair of...
While there are always exceptions to the rule, the general consensus is that contemporary humans are, on average, larger.
