While you can oversteam any hat, as an owner of a Christy's adventurer myself, they are not known for quality felt these days. An Akubra, for example, would not have reacted in the same way.
Even if somebody did know, the odds of finding that exact hat are likely slim to none. If you really want to replicate it, the best advice I can give is to go custom.
If money is no object, a custom hatter can easily replicate this kind of look, minus the Cavanagh edge of course. Art Fawcett has a near invisible overwelt that works quite nicely as "close enough." The block shape is also very similar to Optimo's preferred block.

My understanding is that if you're blocking without a sweatband, you go true to size. With a sweatband, you go one size down.

Some great hats from Bob.
I have a Borso that needs an Ostritch sweat I think I told him I was going to send in December...oops! I think I'll also drop him a line about the new 40's Stetson Homburg I got on ebay that needs to be resized.

Was not speaking of someone who was struggling with something, explicitly the opposite. The example of behavior that might be deemed as sexist by some is precisely when such person displays no struggle. Thus the "courtesy" IS rooted in the assumption that the woman is incapable. It's the...
